the power gains are pretty good. But thats based off a Bosch dyno. Different #'s than a dynojet or other dyno's.

Will it make power? Yes.

Is it high quality? Yes

Is it light? Extremely

It's titanium, so it's corrosion proof, wont' dent. And has no sharp angles to get scratched on the pavement.
The Supra guys, the Celica guys, and the S2000 guys that have this exhaust love it.

Does it sound dope? YES. This exhaust makes the car sound like a tuned V8. Under 3500 RPM its very good for street driving, and when you want to rip it. the sound is awesome.

$1800 for that exhaust!?!?!?! That's ridiculous (yes I know the amuse and top secret systems are also a ton of money...but that's ridiculous as well). The Veilside Ti systems for the S2k (which is also a dual), celica, and even Supra (which has bigger piping) are roughly $1k or less. That's just a ridiculous markup for being a part for the hot new car...ugh. You would think that these manufacturers would realize that they can make more profit by having a moderate markup and moving more volume than having an insane markup and selling 3 of the exhausts in the US...just doesn't make any damn sense.

Sorry, I meant how much does stock exhaust weigh, not just muffler.

And I found an estimate in another thread of 90lbs for the stock exhaust.

3rdpower the very first thread mentions this is a full exhaust.

1800 might be outrageous but the 90-15 = 75 weight savings is as effective as adding another 7.5 hp.

Even as almost double the price, a very attractive option compared to the very heavy Stillen (close to stock weight I am hearing).

If the Veilside makes 10 crank, and saves 75 lbs, that's still better than the 13 Stillen claims.

I'm not trying to stir up Stillen vs. Veilside, just comparing the only two aftermarket exhausts I know anything about.

FRVRNGN,
You're missing my point. I understand what you are saying...and it makes sense. I made the same point in another thread...However, it's still ridiculous that they are charging $1800 for a 350Z cat back, when Veilside Ti cat backs' for other cars are in the $600-1000 range. The one for the 350Z would use no more raw materials (titanium) than one for an S2000 or Supra (the S2k is a dual, and the Supra has bigger piping)...and there's no way that the extra $800/exhaust can be attributed to R&D! That's BS...and that's why I'm pissed.

It seems like they're just charging a premium because the other brands (amuse/top secret) have done so, and they think they can get away with it on the hot new car on the market. So if Veilside sells 10 of these at $1800, that's $18,000. If they priced them at $1000, they would have to sell 18 of them to make that $18k. Are there 10 people on this board that will buy that exhaust at $1800?...probably not. Are there 18 that would buy it at about a grand...I'd say probably yes given the choices in the current market. Obviously this is not taking into account Veilside's material and labor costs/opportuinity costs of the time spent on production, etc...but I can assure you if they are selling the celica exhaust for $600, they are still making a profit on that exhaust (as long as they aren't trying to make up losses by moving more units for other cars...which I doubt). Therefore, I think it's pretty safe to assume it costs less than $600 to produce this exhaust. There's no way in hell it costs 3 times that much to produce the Z exhaust (for the dual, you're only talking about an additional small pipe across the back of the car and a small muffler+tip)...so it's probably safe to assume that the bulk of that extra cost for the Z piece is profit. However, you don't realize profit unless you actually sell something! I suppose the laws of supply and demand will sort the price out a bit...who knows? I hope nobody buys the damn thing at that price, and they're forced to drop the price to move units. Demand can't be that high...particularly when you can get an even lighter JIC single Ti for $1150, which will probably show just as much, if not more power gain. This just seems plain greedy to me, and I think it's a mistake from a business perspective, and from a reputation standpoint. Even if they are tyring to be a premium brand, you can't do that if you have no triers to speak for your product!

The Vielside Titanium Tear Drop Exhaust for the 350Z has produced a solid 6.8 RWHP on the Dyno. The exhaust comes in either SST piping with Titanium mufflers, or a FULL titanium set-up that wieghs ONLY 14.5 lbs for the whole system! This system is beautiful and sounds great.

Intense Motorsports have them for $1425.00. IMHO it's not a bad price for titanium compared to other Ti systems. I wonder how it sounds. I'd pick up one if I had the cash/credit

I was just looking at the Veilsides for other cars...looks like the S2000 is a single outlet. That still doesnt justify over double the cost for an extra little pipe and canister!
