So, I'm just about to run down and find a torque wrench in-lbs (which seems to be impossible to find, I can only ever find huge torque wrenches that start at 20 ft-lbs).. if I am able to find one, I will start my MREV+ install. Any advice before I start?
And I'll keep posting in this thread as I encounter problems during install (I know it will happen haha).

good luck and post pics if you can! i'm interested in seeing if this is something I'd like to do myself as well. Also, I heard that you can rent them from kragen/pepboys. Not sure if that's where you already looked, but you can try there if you haven't yet.

I still can't find anything! I guess I can try to use a ft-lbs one, but it seems like theres too big of an error of margin doing that.. (the noches are like 5, 10, 15, 20 ft-lbs)
And I have called Pepboys, Autozone, every local mom and pop store. I don't get it! Are these things rare??

you do not need a torque wrench to do an install listed as inch lbs dude.....the technical term for it being tight enough is "snug" with a standard 1/4 drive wratchet
If the popcharger took you 8 hours, what are you giving yourself for this, like 24?
Just kdding with you man...enjoy, its a worthwhile mod

Okay, so my first update. NOW I'm about to start. Got an inch-lb torque wrench.. it doesn't have an 'extension' (listed in the motordyne instructions).. I don't know if that will be a problem, I'll see.
Now, first two questions.
I couldn't get a 4mm socket anywhere, but in the instructions, it says 'if a 4mm socket isnt available, open the plenum wide and using the original nut, turn it upside down and thread it back onto the stud about 1/2", and take the other nut and tightly screw it on the right side up' (and it has a picture).. but what is it talking about? I guess I'll try and figure it out when I get there.
The other thing is, this coolant control value thing - has nothing to do with the spacer or mrev+ correct? Cause I don't have thread putty..

Wow. So. Don't know what the hell I'm doing with the strut bar.. instructions don't make sense to me. Something about 'loosen the two 24mm bolts and then mark the center 24mm bolt and loosen one turn'... ?!?!?
Also, completely ****ed up my torque wrench. I'm an idiot. Are torque wrenches supposed to have the ability to take off bolts or no? I was trying to reverse the direction, and in the instructions it said the back of the wrench was the reversing thing, and it had a screw in it, took the screw out, and the whole thing came apart. Tried to put it back together, but now it won't turn.
I'm really good at this stuff.

Okay, so nothing was done. I think I figured out the first two bolts of the strut bar. Nothing more.
But more importantly - my dad came and took a look. He is concerned because it was a challenge for me and him to do the popcharger install, and he was looking at the plenum. He is a little worried, looking at all the little hoses attached, and the wires, and all that. It just looks very daunting. Is it truly not bad? Does it just look hard to do?
And are there any good picture-filled writeups online of how to do this damn install?

Dingobiatch,
For most, its not a difficult install. But from the sound of it, I suggest putting it back together and letting a mechanic install it for you. If you are uncomfortable with it, don't do it.
If the mechanic charges you $150, its totally worth it. And he should be done in about 1.5 hours.

Umm... Well first off on the strut tower bar there are 3 nuts, left and right nut loosen to allow the center nut to turn. While the center one makes the strut tower bar longer or shorter. I didn't need to do that step till after the install was done so go ahead and take it off.
Then you just need to get some hoses off. Also there are other hoses that should be taken off, that isn't shown in the instructions, to make it easier to install. The hoses are a bit hard to get to, but just look all around and you'll see what I'm talking about.
For the inch-lb thing just tighten without a socket wrench and use a nut driver(like in instructions) and tighten as much by hand, then take a small socket wrench and turn it about 1/4 turn.
I use plastic wrap to cover the holes instead of towels to make sure nothing got in.
Oh yeah and get a good torque wrench, not one from walmart. You'll spend atleast $30 on a good set(look for sales).
Everything else just follow the instructions completely and it shouldn't be that hard. Hopefully it'll be a bit easier than installing that popcharger...
