Default Spacers and MREV2 Question??

I have a 2005 Nissan 350Z Touring, I have some mods "check sig" and I am about to order my Motordyne 5/16" Basic Plenum Spacer Kit VQ35DE 350Z, plus I want the Motordyne MREV 2 VQ35DE 350Z combo??? Heard some good gains, cause I love to be N/A.

Which one is better the Iso Thermal Plenum Kit or the Basic???

Hahaha! I guess I'm predictable.

Iso Thermal > Basic

The upper and lower plenum assembly will run 30' to 60' cooler with Iso Thermal.

Just installed my MD 5/16" plenum spacer with ISO thermal kit last night. I drove my Z to work today to find out what the hype is all about. Well, I was pleasantly suprise -- nice roar on the engine along with a harder pull than stock. I'm happy! And many thanks to Tony for his advise and reassurance prior to me doing the install!

I was reading in the other posts that the spacer and MREV2 really required a tune. Did you get one Zincognito? If so what did you do, and who tuned it for you? My only other performance mods will be my Nismo exhaust and Pop charger.

The tune is in a case by case thing. Although i havent dynoed it, i almost certain that im not running lean (just a hunch). I will be tuning it just for the sake of it with in ultimate e-manage around the 15th at Precission Auto. Not only does it rev faster but made my exhaust sound deeper. Let me know if you want to meet up and see for yourself....?

If you have a REVUP engine, you do NOT need a tune. The REVUP ECU easily adjusts to the MREV2 & 5/16" spacer combination no problem.

If you have the regular 287 engine, you may or may not need a tune. Check your dyno A/F results to know where your ratio is before using both together. Some will need a tune to do both. Some won't need a tune at all. ...And if you already have a reflash or good tune to the 12.5 - 13.25 A/F range, you are good to go!

Sorry, GB's or specials are not available. The MREVS are a low margin item due to the parts involved.

OTOH...

With this combination, REVUP'ers will get the single *largest gain in NA performance that can be bolted on.
-> A minimum of 15HP and 18 TQ in the upper midrange. With a real potential for up to 20 HP and 30 TQ.

Tony, the 5/16" spacer will be fine for the combo right? No need to move up to the 1/2" spacer? I would really like to keep my factory strut tower brace.

Thanks,
Joe

5/16" is what is recommended if you have the strut bar.

You will be able to keep the strut bar.

But for the 287 engine, add one or the other first. Then get a dyno. If you are not running lean, you can add the other.
