Default 5/16 Plenum Spacer

Does the plenum spacer change the sound of the car at all? And can it be installed by someone with minimal experience....? (I installed my popcharger myself) Thanks

There are a dozen spacer install threads in the intake forum. Search. You are no longer a newbie.

Yes, you will get a little more growly sound under the hood, especially at WOT.

Yes, you can install it with minimal mechanical experience.

GET AN IN/LB TORQUE WRENCH!!!!

There is a very faint difference in sound, you definitely have to look for it but to the average person you wont be able to hear a thing. Great mod BTW.

. . . but if you stick the Motordyne sticker on your windshield, you'll hear a nasty growl coming from your VQ when you're at WOT.

installing the spacer is easy, motordyne has excellent instuctions. I finsihed installing mine last night in the dark. Every couple of minutes I had to walk over to my neighbors house to trip the motion sensor on his porch light.

If you have a rev-up engine you will need the Mrev2 lower collector to take advantage of the gains.

For me, I noticed a huge difference in sound, especially @ WOT around 5500-6000rpms, but I also installed a z-tube and popcharger at the same time, so its hard to say how much the spacer alone changed the sound. I've only been able to drive it for a couple of miles so far, but I definately noticed more power, and the power seemed like it was a lot more consistant all the way till redline. I'm hoping that it will get even better after the ECU has time to adjust.

The change in sound is nothing you won't get used to in about 1-2 days. Nothing like changing exhaust parts.
