Default Problems with HKS Hi-Power

I searched for 10 minutes and have not found anyone with this same problem. I have a friend that has a supposedly stock Track model in the Kingdom of Bahrain and he was saying that his differential has the fins like the NISMO diff cover. These fins come in contact with the HKS Hi-Power exhaust. We called HKS and they said this exhaust is for US-spec only 350Z's and will not work with the NISMO diff cover.

I've had the guy's mechanic try and readjust the exhaust a bit, but he says he keeps having the same problem.

Has anybody else seen this problem?

Maybe you should grind down the flange a bit so it won't come in contact.

The Euro Z's seem to have a finned diff cover but it should still be a R205 rear end. I spoke with HKS this morning and they were experiencing the same problem with one of their customers which I am sure is the same person as your friend. The U.S Z's do not have that cover on the diff so clearance was never an issue.

cut the flanges off and reweld some where- probably would be cheaper than swapping the diff housing out-

US model also have a bit problem. Mine is knocking against a diff bolt, so i had to put a small dimple on that part of the exhaust.

I had the same problem here in Saudi Arabia. The installer had to customize the rear V shaped connection (that is hitting the diff) by cutting and welding new pipes. The result was great, and the sound too. Pipes are of the same grade and diameter.
