CDA Intake...pics and dynos
first of all i must give Performance Nissan a big thanks for basically giving me this intake. as all of you know who have dealt with these guys they are one of the best distributors out there. they have a very knowledgable crew and competitive prices. thank you performance nissan
the intake kit comes with a carbon fiber cylinder and a cone shaped filter inside. this filter can be cleaned and reused just like a k&n filter. the hardware that comes with the kit is below par...i ended up tapping out the holes where the map sensor tube mounts to the intake and using the same size bolts as stock but shorter. the screws that come with the kit are not adequate imo...the heads are barely bigger than the hole itself and they look like sheetmetal screws.
i don't have any pics of the kit before the install but this link does https://my350z.com/forum/showthread....&highlight=cda performance nissan took the pics before sending me the intake.
pretty simple to install the intake and the instructions are pretty easy to follow....with the exception of where to locate the strap to hold the intake. without the strap the intake stays securely in place so i left that out.
the numbers are as follows done on a dynojet:
234/217 with k&n drop in filter
239/222 with CDA intake (best pull out of the two)
i did one run when i got there before swapping intakes. the other two were with the CDA intake installed. i did a pre-installation of the CDA intake so the downtime would be minimal. i think the dyno is a bit misleading because we did the first pull shortly after i arrived. the commute was about 20 minutes.
unfortunately, i couldn't afford to have 3 runs without the intake and three runs with the intake. so i opted to do one run before i installed the intake and two after...ran me 80 bucks. i am also a little dissappointed given my mods which are as follows:
cda intake, crawford plenum, dc sports headers, crawford cats, fuji y pipe, and fuji ti catback.
heres some pics of the intake installed

Hey Road
Did you reset the ecu after the install? Also do you have a dyno graph, just want to see what your A/F is. Im sure there is some power to be made with a tune.
I agree, you should be making more power with those mods.
Good test on a new product though.

yes i did reset my ecu per the technosquare method in between runs. i forgot to mention that in my post so thanks for setting that straight.
also, i was unable to get an a/f reading...no extra bung and it would have cost me an extra 40 bucks!
my main goal was to test and review the new intake for performance nissan that they so generously donated.
i am going to add an extra bung for the a/f and re-dyno soon.
i will post up when i get the numbers.

It was a good review, i have not seen any on this intake until now. Good job, i like it when people test things for others

appreciate the kind words aceman
i was unaware they could do a tailpipe sensor. i asked for an a/f and the guy at the shop told me i needed the extra bung...so maybe that was not an option at that facility.
anyways, i am going to have the extra bung put in for future dynos and tuning capabilities

I would HIGHLY suggest a tune of some sort. The popular choices are the reflash from technosquare/AAM, or the Utec. I bet you could gain at least 10 more to the wheels. Definitely worth it, especially since you already spent a decent amount of money on your mods.
