Default jwt intake making car feel slower

Hey guys i just had a quick question for all of you. My friend has an 06 rev-up z he says that it feels slower since he put the jwt intake onto his car and he has absolutely no other mods by the way. I know he didn't reset the computer by disconnecting the battery cable would this help out with this situation and does disconnecting the battery and then reconnecting it really make that much of a difference in the z. Im just wondering if it would make any difference because if im correct people say when you do the whole battery deal you get performance gains intill the computer get use to the mod and goes back to normal any suggestions are welcomed thanks. i have an 03 z and i didnt disconnect the battery and my car didnt seem to get any slower if anything a tad bit faster on top end.

Just remember to measure the new mod vs oem system air temperature under similar hot idle and traffic conditions.

Each 11F increase in ingested air temperature decreases the density by 1% and can reduce the power output by the same 1%.

Oftentimes the intake mods can overcome the gains due to heat soak and traffic.

If it makes the car feel slower, take it off. Remember that the OEM intake box is a cold air intake the JWT is not.
