Default Maf Sensor? Clean

How exactly are you supposed to clean it. I have an electronics cleaner from radio shack. Do you unhook the battery to reset ecu while doing the clean, jsut unplug and clean the whole MAF sensor or is there a sertain place on the MAF sensor you are supposed to clean?

Just unhook the negative cable from the battery, remove the MAF sensor and spray the 'open' part where you see some metal kind of sensor.

since the MAF is a hotwire style sensor, I'd make sure the car is cold before cleaning it as a precaution. you wouldn't want to create thermal shock and break something.
