06 initial rev up mods what do guys think
For an 06 Rev up motor how about the jwt pop charger, aam angled spacer, and mrev2. These appear to be good mods and I don't live far from Forged in atlanta so with their install I'm sure it will be done correctly. Any positive input is appreciated. Mahalo, Salamat, Gracias and Thank you
I had an 06.. as far as the angled AAM spacer goes.. i dnt see why go with it now.. wait till you get enough for a tune to go with it also to take full advantage of that mod.. the starvation of the front banks was corrected with the plenums found on your rev up.. also.. pop charger is so popular because its shown results.. and i would say got for it.. but wait.. have you thought about going FI.. sounds good huh.. but its pricey.. so if you think you can do it.. save you money and instead of dropping it on bolt ons.. why not save up and get that bad boy sleeved and pretty much built.. Forged does an amazing job and that's the shop to go to. From there you pretty much coult be looking into a semi used turbo kit of choice so you can get it cheaper.. i seen full greedy turbo kits go for as lil as 5G's avg.. including intercooler and all in great condition.. once you get that go back to.. Forged snap them on.. and behold a street beast.. with 500+whp.. and you avoided all the hassle of bolt ons depressing you.. like they did me.. and end up buying an Evo..
REV UP is a great engine.. haven't seen one with greddy's and built motor yet.. jst thinking of it.. makes me wonder what a VQ35HR would do with some twins..

Thanks Bra (Bro in the lower 48) I appreciate your input that is why I posted. It's funny you bough a IX I had an VIII and loved it. Going with the Z becuase my wife and I both love the car, later we will keep it and I am going to purchase and EVO X as well, thats a happy house, and 06 Z, EVO X, Sports Edition 4X4 with I Force V8 and Borla Exhaust.
Tracers, I would go and talk to Sharif at Forged he will point you in the right direction. I was in the same boat as you a month ago and I went up to Forged and talked to Sharif and to make a long story short, I am having few bolt-ons installed by them this Friday. Let me know if I can help.

Just got an email from Sharif @ forged and he suggested the crawford plenum instead of the aam angled spacer. Anybody have the jwt popcharger, crawford plenum, mrev 2 setup? None the less w/ Sharif's
knowledge I am sure this would be great intial mods.

The Crawford plenum for the Rev Up motors are great for higher range hp, only downside to it is you have to spend more money to retain a strut bar. For track junkies, the Crawford plenum is a great mod for the Rev Up motors. For guys that daily drive their cars, the Motordyne MREV2 with 5/16 Iso Thermal spacer is a great choice. It will give you a significant gain in the area under the curve as well as retaining a lot of the top end that you lose with the 287HP lower collector. Either choices are great, it just depends on where you want your Rev Up engine to have the most power.
I have the MREV2 and the APS plenum, which is very similar to the Crawford, on a rev up. I didn't dyno, but the power above 5K is astonishing. It will put you back in the seat, and reach 7K very quickly in the first 3 gears. By that time, you're way above the national speed limit. Not sure if it was the MREV2 or the plenum, but the combination kicks a$$.

The popcharger is definitely a good intake. The problem is it sucks up too much hot air... on a cold day it rocks, but if you're sitting at a red light and your engine bay starts heat soaking, the popcharger heats up way faster than stock airbox.
If your radiator fans come on, it kills your power because hot air gets blown over the heat shield
yeah gains are same ur paying for the name. aem and injen are licensed meaning you wont have to take it off if caught cuz its been tested to be safe for modding. everything has cons and pros. do search on mods youll find alot
