Okay, I'm about to bump this thread because my head hurts from all the reading and searching.
Basically, I'm looking for a true dual setup that does not have the muffler in the middle of the rear (and covering my diff). I've been looking at pics on this site, eBay, and whatever else I can find as far as visual aid is concerned.
I've been using this for reference: Nismo 350Z aftermarket exhaust pics.
I want something other than OEM but nothing that's a ridiculously priced setup just because of the brand name. My current setup has to go. It's too loud and is just not working well. So I'm scrapping everything and starting over.
I'm also tired of y-pipes that don't seem to hold up well to flexing. I hate flex joints. So it's either I get something like a Stillen y-pipe to go with a single pipe system or a true dual setup.
I'm considering tossing my Top Speed test pipes, too. I've been looking at HFC's, but I'm still stuck on the fact that they cost as much as half an exhaust system (in some cases). Nevertheless, I'd consider buying a used set of HFC.
The real problem is whether anyone has personal experience with a quiet system that still 'feels' stronger than OEM and has a nice tone.
What I don't want:
Top Speed
Fujitsubo
Tanabe
Amuse
ARC
Nismo
Borla
Stillen
any system that covers my rear diff (don't ask, I just like the way it looks)
What I'd consider:
Fast Intentions (if they make it)
Motordyne
A'Pexi
APS
Greddy
A single exit quality exhaust
True dual catback with h-pipe or x-pipe
So does any of that make sense? I need help.
Recap:
Quiet performance exhaust
Something that doesn't cover the rear diff (dual tips, I guess)
Nothing outrageously expensive
Need to replace test pipes, y-pipe, and everything else.
Okay, GO!
