cai creates more turbulent air intake and actually has shown losses with the spacer supposedly

thats crazy, im not disbelieving you but could you point me out to where this has been proven, if that was the case tuning or lack of may have played a significant roll.

Nissan North America (NNA) tested it on their own dyno several months ago.

Dyno plots are posted on this board. You can find it with a search.

Hi all,

I just got my 5/16 spacer and MREV2 today. Thanks Dave from partshippers for the delivery. Awaiting installation over the weekend.

Hydrazine, can you kindly explain more on the AFR part? My Z is now running stock with only A'pexi Super Grounding kit installed. Will my car run lean after I installed the 5/16 thermal spacer and MREV2? Is there anything else i need to do after installing the spacers and MREV2, i.e. ecu reset, reflash, tuning? To my understanding all three are the same thing... are they?

Do you have an 06? With an 06 you should be fine. With 03, 04 you could run lean depending on your AFR before the install...

Yeap my Z is an 06. Thanks for the info... i feel a lot better knowing i dont have to do anything else after installing my spacer and MREV2.

How do you actually find out whether ur z is running lean or rich? There's post from Hydrazine saying it can be done by dynoing. How exactly does it work and what do you do if its running rich/ lean. Please excuse me for my noobness...

I have the same questions but for the 287 hp 03 models if you install the MREV2 and spacer, do you have to pay for a dyno to tune the air fuel ratio. leaving the battery dissconnected overnight, won't the ECU "learn" again. with the mods on?Or do you actuly have to by tuning software or go to a dyno. Is this something a Nissan dealership could do?

I have an 05 that I just got reflashed at AAM with mods listed. If I just add the mrev2 it should give me a little more power and not lean me out to much right?

If you have the REVUP engine you don't need to worry about the A/F. It automatically adjusts no problem.

If you have the 287 engine, you may or may not run leaner. If you have a stack of other mods - IE headers, test pipes, exhaust, pop charger and other stuff... Then yes, you will likely run lean with both the MREV2 and spacer installed.

If your only mods are a pop charger, MREV2 and spacer, you will be fine.

If you can install them on the dyno, install them individually so you can map out exactly what the gains are.

Default Dyno

Hey Tony

Would love to, and post the results for all, but with the snow that just hit last night, and the forcast not looking good for a while, may not be possible.

In that case just install them after the snow is gone. You won't be able to really slam the gas pedal untill the snow is gone anyways.

You could install it now but if there really is a lot of snow you won't have much opportunity to road test the results.

It'll certaintly sound different though. You will be able to hear it with just a few WOT blips of the pedal.
