Well I took the Plunge!! (HKS knock off)
Just purchased the HKS knock off. Looks to be a quality item. The only thing i am concerned w/ is the wall thickness of the pipe and the welds. This isn't that big of a deal though since i can re-weld it. I was getting ready to start welding up my own dual exhaust using HKS canisters and aluminized steel, but when i saw this exhaust it was exactly the same design of what i was after and is SS. Since the price of the entire exhaust is about the same price as my own custom exhaust w/o the cost of the mufflers so i figured what the hell. If the mufflers fail i will just replace them with the HKS cf ti canisters
.
I am probably going to do a before and after dyno since i have a buddy that works at a shop w/ a dyno-jet that is litterally 2 miles from my house. I guess we will see how the "clone" compares to the real deal

I will post picks as soon as i receive it.
I am sure it will hold up fine. People over analyze exhaust systems in my opinion. You can have a custom exhaust made out of mild steel and if it has the same diameter and bends as a SS high dollar exhaust (as this one does) it will perform just as well. This exhaust is made of Stainless steel which is exactly what the HKS is made of (same chemical compostition and refining process). The only thing you really have to worry about is thin wall tubing, which isn't really that big of a deal since there is relatively little bending stress on the exhaust. Also the welds are important, but like i said the exhaust has fairly little stress on it.
As everyone knows there are two lines of thinking
1) you get what you pay for
2) sometimes you pay extra just for the name
I guess there has to be a comprimise sometimes so in the end if i end up saving $800 and have a non brand named exhaust that performs well i am more than satisfied
Hopefully this will end up being a product similar to how the topspeed exhaust started out (unheard of and viewed as inferior junk). Maybe it will end up being a cost effective option for Z owners.

I was just thinking of buying it myself. If it look, sounds, performs, and last like the HKS... Why not??
congrats and you better post those pics before the PP's(pics police) come get you.
