Default Pros & Cons of removing the Stock resonator?

I wanted to make my stock exhaust sound a bit louder. So, I was wondering of the Pros & Cons of removing the Stock resonator?

I did this back in the day, I loved it, the car was louder and sounded sick on downshifting/rev matching. Only downside was it is raspy at first, once the car warms up its fine, rasp goes away.

If you remove the resonator, you have to weld pipe in its place. Its a ghetto mod. If you want more noise, there are better methods.
