Question Spacers and Plenums and Revs OH MY!

Ok so, I want to get the mrev2 and a spacer what do I have to do? Im lost on the whole revup motor non revup motor thing. What can I or cant I do to that area of the motor without needing a tune. HELP PLEASE as this seems like a great mod. I just need someone to explain this to me. Im just new to the Z scene and ive tried looking up other threads but I havent been able to find what I was looking for... Thanks everyone...

If you have a rev-up motor most people show gains with just a mrev2.

If you have a non-rev-up (you), gains have been shown with just a MD 5/16 spacer. I don't think the mrev2 will help the non-rev-ups that much.....I think cause the mrev2 lower plenum design is more simular to non-rev-up lower plenums than rev-up lower plenums. So if you get just the 5/16 spacer, MD claims 10hp+ right out of the box no tune. Anyone?

the rev-ups have longer runners in the lower plenum too, and 7000rom vs 6500rpm.

so with a 5/16th spacer on my non-revup, realisticly what kind of additional HP will it make? Ive seen people claim 15HP and others say 5HP. Who am I to believe?

I like Kimchee by the way.. Spicey as S$#@!!

I would say that you might get a 7-10 hp increase. I've been trying to find a Dyno graph on a None revup motor for a while, but can't seem to find one... Intereseted to see what the TQ gains are. There is a huge thread that Wired 24/7 made that shows a bunch of dyno graphs of them both having the spacer and mrev2 on it with a tune and without... But none of just the spacer.... Its a good read anyways.... Good Luck.

Click the link in my sig below. These are dynos of all the various plenum mods.

The Sport Z Magazine plenum mod shoot out dyno plots are all on the 287 engine.

It was a totally independant test conducted by a third party so the results are real.

This thread shows a non rev-up motor that had good gains with a spacer and a MREV 2. He shows individual gains, with spacer, with MREV 2 and with both. I was surprised to see the gains with the MREV 2 on a non rev-up motor.
