Default Tune Needed?

Ok, i just got a Injen Intake (converted to shortram) and a PRO-1 Exhaust installed on my car. I plan to put on a plenum spacer (5/8in) later this week. I have a few questions.

1st - After the intake and exhaust I noticed when i fill up my tank the electronic "miles till empty" display readys 270 dte (distance till empty) when before the intake and exhaust it read 380ish on a full tank. Any ideas as to why?

2nd - I have also notice a considerable drop in miles to the gallon. I am getting around 8 MPG...

3rd - After the plenum install should i get a tune? I was thinking my air/fuel ratios would be off by abit and i would be running alittle lean. I dont really know if thats gonna be the reality but just curious. Maybe just reseting the stock ECU so it can adjust to the mods?

Im still kinda new to this whole thing so just alittle help would be great.

Heh im getting like 22-24mpg on the highway with cams. I have no tune but my af starts at 12.2 and goes up too 13.8 at redline. Dyno your car first to decide if it needs tuned and post a graph on here, so that people can see your a/f ratio.

Should only cost like 40-100$ or so for 2-3 dyno pulls.

The DTE gage is terribly inaccurate.

Post a photo of the MPG gage.

No.

so all these things going are a basicly like not really corrilated to the mods? cause i mean i know the DTE gauge is inaccurate but 100 off is alot like for all of a sudden. i wondered if maybe the ECU was confused w/ the mods.

you're really not going to get alot of help about that here cuz i posted a question like that and i just got flamed. about 2 weeks after i put on my intake i noticed that i had to fill up my gas alot quicker (before my "empty" lights would come on @ around 350 and then it started coming on @ like 280 and slowly it even went down to 250). everyone said that it was my driving habits and me accelerating faster to hear my intake (no. i KNOW that i didn't). but the thing is, every time i unplug the car battery to reset my ecu, my "empty" light comes on @ around 350 until after a few weeks it starts going back down and i have fill up at 250-280. then i reset the ecu again and start all over. i still don't know whats going on and if it was my driving habits, i wouldn't be getting more miles from a full tank after i reset my ecu. and i am not refering to the DTE but the trip counter or whatever it is that i reset after everytime i fill up

I've got lots of mods and had a dyno mid last year to check my A/F's (mainly for the nitrous set-up I was running)....my gas mileage never really changed before/After mods. I usualy get 20-25 MPG w/ combined city/highway driving

the only time I've seen my MPG guage dip was during track days...I'd hit 6-8 MPG! If you don't think you're gas mileage is suffering b/c you're on the throttle more (when I do a new install, I'm usualy pushing the car much harder b/c I want to see if there's a difference), then you might want to calculate your mileage the old fahsion way and see if your gauge is correct.
