Default Motordyne Or Aam Spacer

Well it looks like the spacer that I bought from Roger got lost on the way so I got my money back, now I'm questioning if I want to get the MD 5/16 ISO thermal spacer or get the AAM spacer? I spoke with Intense and they no longer offer the MD spacers, but are still selling the AAM. They said that the upper part is 5/16 and as it starts going towards the back it becomes 1/2 so that way you don't need to change your upper strut bar...thus meaning more HP when dyno tuned? Also I still plan to buy the MREV 2 which is compatable with either Motordyne or AAM spacers. But I dont' know which one I want. Anyone have any recommendations or good/bad reviews with either product? I got between $250-290 to spend on a spacer, NO MORE!

about the same... both overpriced for what they cost to make but still considered a very cheap mod for the Z with good gains =]
also both let you keep the strut bar

ohhhhhhhhhh mannnnn i hate making these kinda of decisions...i was originally aiming towards Motordyne 5/16 ISO but got a better deal on the AAM, but I dont' know that much about AAM. Is it a reliable brand? Any issues after install (check engine light, noisy, etc).

Why not get the one with verifiable test results?

so basically they perform the same. 1-2 whp = dyno or temp variances

go with the price

I have had AAM and MD's spacers, both are good quality, but I like AAM's better b/c it's angled (which gives more volume to the front runners, which is where it's needed) and it's made from a single piece of Aluminum (MD's is made from 2 pieces and connected together...it's hard to tell, but if you look, it's obvious)

In all, I highly doubt any dyno will show a real difference between the 2...when you factor in the accuracy of the dyno, change in weather, heat soak of Engine, a difference of 5 HP is negligible.

here's a pic of the MD spacer and the joint from the 2 peices:

I like the MD better because of the flat mating surfaces, 6 center pillar spaces, strut bar spacers that are not just a bunch of washers.

I got mine from AAM, had them install it. I felt a difference in the higher RPMS but still to pricy for what you get which is very little. The big HP claim on AAM's site is for the 05 and below, make sure u read the last line as it says 4 to 6 hp on 06 model is expected or something to that extent which Iam sure is questionable. Iam gonna get my ride dynoed later on this week and I'll see
what Iam putting down!

I have to say that I am not too impressed with my MD 5/16 spacer...just finished installing it, excitedly took it out. Didn't notice a thing different
