Anyone W/ Injen Read!!!
Just installed mine last night and had installed Zgirl's on Sat.. They redesigned the intake and you should be aware of this... On Jill's, the nipple for the breather tube is on the main polished pipe and the stock black hose connects to it.. On mine, they put it on the part that bolts to the MAS and included a red tube with an inline FILTER that connects to the stock black hose. And on the directions, their is a big warning that the inline filter should be changed every 12-15k miles to prevent oil from building up in the mas from the crankcase breather..... Not sure if Injen is going to have a news release and not sure if it will cause a problem for you that have the first production run, but I immediately noticed a design change when I opened the box... Injen must have taken theirs apart after some miles and noticed an oil build up from the breather, you may want to check yours....... I don't have a digital camera that is working right now but if someone has scanner or camera, I can fax you the directions that show that part and what I am talking about. PM or email me if you want me to fax it to you...... I will only be on the computer till about 1pm EST today... Then back tomorrow morning......

Please let us know what Injen says about it. I noticed the warning when I installed mine and I was curious about it. If there's gonna be a problem, I'd like to know.

I just installed mine last night, its true. the main polished pipe has a nipple that you connect the breather tube directly to it. its a polished nipple. So this is the "New" one correct?

I would think that just adding the inline filter to your existing black hose would be fine. The filter looks like it may cost around $7 or 8 bucks.... I am just posting my onservations... Lets see if Philip answers this for all you guys..... Good Luck....

Frankly, I was wondering why Injen had designed the thing with the breather tube connected in front of the MAF sensor. Putting the nipple behind the MAF, which is what it looks like Injen is now doing, would eliminate the need for the red tube and inline filter. If I remember correctly, the breather tube was behind the MAF sensor on the stock setup. I hope the change in position is not going to cause problems.

Now I'm confused, where is the better place for the breather to be connected to??? The 2 I have seen in person have the nipple on the bottom of the tube that goes to the throttle body and connects with the stock black hose. These 2 were installed before mine. My intake has the nipple on the metal part that bolts up in front of the MAS and has a 14" red hose with filter that clamps on to the the factory breather.... I will look at my directions to see if their was a date that they were printed.... Did anyone email Injen yet?

So are you saying they have added a new piece with a filter in it. In this case they would have to either shorten a different (existing) piece or replace an existing piece with this new piece.
Either way I can not see Injen shipping out a bunch of free parts to everyone that already owns one.
... thanks for the heads-up and keep us posted.

I got my polished intake today and I apparently have an "old" model. So I called technical support and asked why they changed. His first reason was production. He said they could get them out faster the new way. I guess this is believable, they can now just cut the top pipe and not add this tube, while another machine can make the new piece. Seems logical to me. He said the inline filter was just "insurance" because the new tube was before the MAF, so it filters out dirt and debris. He said there was no difference in power.
