yup believe it or not the stock air box is actually designed pretty well, especially the 06 ones with the venturi ring. so the drop-in helps squeeze out a few more ponies with better air flow. i also had the popcharger and the sound is more sporty. but all in all i think there won't be much of a difference in power, give or take a few HP.
It's all up to you, you want to stay stock or go for the sportier look or sound. but the transmission won't matter unless the part specifies that its for either MT or AT

I thought that a straight tube would suck more air in, than stock without that boxy thing.
Should I sell my injen short-ram and put my stock '06 airbox on with K&N?

If you really love the sound of your intake though, you may wish to keep it.
