If I'm not mistaken, VRT likes using JIC coilovers, so that's $2K right there. Then exhaust and sways ~$1500. So that's ~$2K for installing everything. And headers aren't the easiest things to install on this car.
OP stated Stance coilovers were bought not JIC.

READ THE THREAD PEOPLE. That price includes the cost of the exhaust, coilovers, sways, installation on all of those things, plus installation on an intake and headers supplied by customer.

To the OP: $5550 is a lot different than $6k when talking about car parts. Thats more than your sway bars cost, and a little less than half of retail on your coilovers. Depending on the exhaust and difficulty of the header install that could pencil out. I am not saying you got a screaming deal, but your first post was pretty misleading. So it could very well be legit so hold your judgements until you know the whole story. I will shoot mra a pm with a link in case he hasn't seen this thread.

I understand and I was not trying to be misleading. However I see things differently. 400 bucks is not that much money at considering car parts and I don't think I was being misleading by saying Close to 6K. I did not say 6K, I said close to 6K. And I was not complaining nor did I say that I got ripped off. Everyone else has seemed to say it to me.

because we originally were going to do other work, and things kept changing. I started paying for the work in the end of April and I did not get the work done until January. So there was a lot of going back and forth and exchanging ideas and I never got a list.

so ask Mike to provide you with an itemized list of what you bought and labor expenses then post that up.

you still haven't said what exhaust you bought from them.

the exhaust was something he had custom fabricated. It was not a named brand. I think it is a little late for Mike to get me an itemized list of labor and expenses. I don't think there was ever one drawn up and I don't think he will draw one up now.

why wouldnt he draw one up now? You have a right to know what he charged you for everything.

custom fabricated by whom? the exhaust shop next to his shop? what brand of mufflers were used? true dual or Y pipe? or just something made off the stock one?

I didn't mean to seem to get on your case. Just to me, close to $6k is $5800 and above. I PMed MrA the link so if he doesn't come in here and prove himself then you obviously got ripped off. Truthfully, I don' tknow what happened so I am not siding with anybody. It seems like you overpaid, but there is a huge gray area when it comes to custom stuff because there is no set retail price for that. You expect the people making the exhaust to be fair in quoting you a price and in this case, unless it was insanely elaborate, it would be hard to justify the balance of your bill as "fair" for a custom exhaust.

It is not dual, it is a single pipe from the y-pipe back. I had it looked at recently and I was told that it is a flowmaster muffler from a CAMARO! That is just what I was told when I had it looked at, I am not a pro and cannot verify that it is true or not. I was even told it was used. But from what I was told, it is not even for my car! The intake is not fastened. From what he said when he looked at it, just about everything on my car was done half assed for the cheapest price. I don't know what to make of all this I was told, I am not a mechanic so I did not draw any of these conclusions myself...

This is what happens when you jump into something while seriously lacking information.

I would Call Michael and tell him you want a break down of where all the money went.

Take some pics of the exhaust and post them for us and of the intake as well.

If you wanna meet up somewhere I can take the pics if you want and check out what was done. I live only a few minutes from his shop

Thats BS! Flowmasters are only like $40.00 and if its used, thats even worse. I would be furious if I were you, and mrA if you are reading this and you can't clear all this up, then shame on you for thinking you could get away with something this stupid. I am all for backing up people who do good work and are honest, but I don't care if you are my grandmother, if you are screwing people then I will side against you.
