Question Nismo CAI...how tough is it to install??

More help please....I bought a used, but in perfect shape, Mismo CAI but it didn't have the install instructions. How hard is it to install? I want to do it myself but I'm hearing that I need to remove the bumper to get the air box off....is this right? Anybody out there got the instructions or can somebody tell me what's envolved?

Very easy you dont even need instructions just commen sense realy as long as it came with the bolts then your straight just go look at some pics of instaled nismo CAI and it will be easy as eating a cake plus CAI is the easiest thing to installe your just lucky you didnt get the Injen that one is easy just takes forever.

That's what I thought, from pictures it looks straight forward but someone was telling me that the OEM air box was going to be a problem and that to get it off without "ripping" it out and doing damage I would need to remove the bumper for access.

One piece fits in front of the radiator. If you have a problem installing that piece:

a. Remove front wheel.
b. Remove wheel well liner.

i installed mine without removing the bumper, just do as davidv said or you can jack up that corner of the car and unbolt the left bottom plastic piece under the bumper and pull that flap down, the flap is held on by 2 bolts and 2 plastic plugs. david's way will probably be easier to install the intake, but use my method whenever you want to clean the filter. this part of the install is just to filter i think... i don't remember if i installed the last pipe from the hood down or from underneath the bumper up... while ur at it you might want to remove the plastic blocking the air coming from the front grill to where the filter sits, you'll see what im talking about when u look around

david's right -- makes it much much easier to line things up and tighten clamps

I would read the instructions and make sure it’s not rubbing on any wires, it’s easy. It's a great 6-pack mod.
