Default Nismo intake for 2007 Z coming soon

At our Z club meeting tonight, one of Nismos designers was a guest speaker. He said that Nismo has in production a dual intake for the 2007 350Z. It should be on the street within 60 days. It will retail for about $500.

Their dyno results say 10hp to the rear wheels. Might be a bit optimistic but he said they have dyno sheets to prove it.

Im having a hard time believing 10 WHP when taking their last intake in consideration

I think sharif tried removing the intake filters to see if there was any gain to expect from upgraded intakes; there was none.

true, but how can you really tell unless you have "highway speed" airflow hitting the front of the vehicle?

JWT dual popchargers is what I'm looking forward too

Although if the new nismo intakes really do add an extra 10 whp that would be pretty cool

Skeptical. Not sure how an intake could make more power over no filter at all.

Everybody that mod there cars become a bit osessed...they have a hard time telling themselves that something is at its best and doesnt worth changing...Z's intake is the most perfect piece of machinery ive ever seen; it takes cold air outside the engine bay without any kind od restrictions what-so-ever have velocity stack for uniformity of air for maf etc....probably took up of 1000 hours to disign,
AND YOU KEEP PUTING STUPID CONE FILTER INSIDE THE ENGINE BAY THAT MAKES YOUR CAR LOSE POWER AND RUN LIKE A HOT ***** IF YOUR DRIVING MORE THAN 5 MINUTES only because the sound is WAWAWIWA like would have said borat!
MAN.
Other thing is the exhaust...they have been fabricated to comply with the law of pollution (euro 2,3 etc) sound etc... of ALL the contryes in the world, now that is the best they could do for EVERYONE at the same time, BUT you can make it better for the place you live...let me explain: usa = nissan sells the nismo because were allowed to have someting a couple decibels louder, BUT you cant put something louder than the standard 89db in south africa, you feel me!
Happy Z driver

A dyno won't have the same pressure or force air does traveling at high speeds. Removing the stock filter won't gain any power. I did this on my 06' and didn't gain squat. A well designed intake actually will gain power. 10whp is definitely possible if you think about how much power that engine is already making.

I'd love to see what it looks like.

This is what the designer from Nismo said when I mentioned that someone removed their stock airbox and gained nothing.

^ It was used on me once and I had to Google it to see what it was.

At first I thought it meant "quit fucking trying".
