No idea lol. I assume it would fit still as you kinda have to play with all the couplers n the angle of the bend on the TB n so on to make it fit perfect. The pipe I got was from Spectre for $20.. Not the most praised brand but its thick pipe that has held up fine for me.

Default Is it worth it? Iso Thermal plenum spacer?

Ok so first off im new to the forums, Just got my 06 350z about 3 weeks ago. Anyways, Ive looked into CAIs and everyone seems to say that a Plenum spacer is far better for your money and performance.(Im still going to buy a CAI but after a spacer) I know everything that the Plenum spacer does, Ive looked into them for hours trust me. They probably get talked about a lot on this site but I cant find the answer to my exact questions. (Ive looked all over this site and google and I cant find the answers.) So this is not my first stop. Ive done my research, dont chew me out over this or do its your time not mine.

So! Im not getting the 1/2 spacer because I like the power at lower RPMs which the 5/16 spacer gives. So I have 3 options, standard 5/16 spacer, Iso Thermal spacer, and copper spacer. The copper spacer im not going to get because everyone says its only for cold weather and im in CA so thats not needed. That leaves me to the standard or the Iso Thermal, so my first question is. Does the Iso Thermal really make that big of a difference with heat, to make it worth the extra $30-$50? or is the standard spacer work perfectly fine? They say the iso thermal will keep the upper and lower plenum cooler and prevent the throttle body from locking up in the colder weather. So is it really worth that extra money? or is it just a way to get people to pay that extra money? Thats my first question.

Question 2, so far the only place I know where to buy a Plenum spacer is motordyne.com, and ebay or amazon. So should I go straight through Motordyne? I dont like ordering from Ebay or Amazon. Does anyone have any other sites to buy one? is Motordyne overpriced?

Last question, whats everyones favorite online website to buy there Z car parts?

I know ill get chewed out for this but I couldnt find the answer to the first 2 questions anywhere. So thank you to anyone who helps out or has personal experience!

As far as your seeming concern about smog, note that MOST catalyst back systems are legal in CA. Not a problem adding extra resonators or larger piping.

I was pretty set on getting the Tanabe Medalion Touring system given that I couldn't find a Nismo S-Tune. But just before I ordered the Tanabe, an S-Tune showed up and made it's way onto my '03 (and then two more shortly after that, both of which I have in my garage.)

The Tanabe is a little louder and deeper than stock in tone and supposedly offered an uptick in performance similar to the S-Tune (when coupled with the Tanabe larger diameter Y-Pipe.)

Really all depends on what you want in an aftermarket system. I personally like the Bassani SS Catback. It maintains a very stealthy stock look, but offers real performance gains and sounds good without a horrible interior drone or being annoyingly loud (setting off car alarms and waking the neighbors...the equivalent of Harley D-bags who take out their baffles). The Bassani system uses all the factory mount locations so nothing needs to be modified under the car. The stainless steel construction is fairly light weight and holds up against the elements.

I've had this system on my car for 5 years now. I've seen plenty of other exhaust systems out there and I would still choose this one. At the end of the day it's really up to personal preference. Most people I see pick the exhaust system purely on looks or sound. For me the deciding factors were more than that.

Both the Invidia Gemini and the Tanabe Medalion systems sound very similar to the Bassani, they both seem to have a slightly deeper note vs. the Bassani. I don't like how you can see the coupling/clamp bolts right next to the exhaust tips on the Invidia though. That could have been planned a little better.

Remove stock resonator and add a vibrant bottle resonator. Youtube search nismo s tune Frankenstein and you'll find my videos. I loved it. But beware paired with test pipes it rasped nuts. Id reccomend selling nismo and purchasing tomei expreme single titanium exhaust!!!!!!!

Crash into a tree at 30mph. Everyone will hear that.
