Default 3.5'' Intake

Decided to make a 3.5'' intake and this is just a short write up and parts used.

Parts-
3.5'' 40* bend, 5.7''(spectre) - $20
3.5'' strait, 6'' (spectre) - $16
Breather filter $10 OR Vacuum sensor adapter(spectre) $10
Metal MAF adapter(ebay)(make sure to have bolts/nurs)- $16
Filter of choice with 6'' neck- about $50+
Velocity stack of choice - $15+
Clamps and couplers - about $60

Depending on the Vstack size, maf housing, and tb the couplers and clamps will vary but you can get a general idea from the pictures. I used (2) 3.5'' , (2) 3.5''-3'' couplers, (2) 3'' and (6) 3.5'' clamps. That is with the NWP TB,stock maf, and 3.5'' vstack.

Notes~~~
~My filter is 7'' long and because of that I had to cut about 1/2 an inch on the strait pipe to make it fit.
~At first I used a vacuum sensor adapter but at the angle I drilled the hole it was to far to the right and decided to try using a breather filter(with a new pipe) and was much easier to install.
~ For now there is no heat shield or a support brace for the intake as i'm waiting to be re-tuned with a larger maf housing which will make the intake shorter overall(and possibly changing the filter size to something smaller) and then I will deal with making the shield and support.

@terrasmak, I have an airaid 3.5'' housing waiting to go in,I got DC headers being installed after some body work next week and then off to zfever/feverracing for a tune.

@mr.sparco, I thought about the 4'', but after seeing pics it just 'looks' too big and the 3.5 seemed pretty cramped to me already.

Do 3.5" intakes actually produce more power? Considering a furookie 3.5" to replace my z tube K&N filter setup. With a 5/16 spacer and header back exhaust plus retune, will the 3.5" intake help at all?

Been researching for awhile, just can't find solid answers.
