Default Megan Test Pipe Keeps Cracking!

Stupid Megan tp keeps cracking. The one on the passenger side already cracked once, had it welded and cracked a month later. Was welded again and cracked again the very next day!! I guess its time to throw it out :-( Car sounded so good with them on. I know its because there are no brackets though.

Has anyone else had this type of problem with tp's?? Guess Im back on the market for a new set of resonated tp's.

I have seen alot this while researching test pipes for my z. I also wondered if anyone has welded thier own brackets to these, to support the problem?

Yessir...same spot. Actually it seems to be cracking along the new weld. They put a pretty thick bead which overlapped the existing weld and it cracked along the new weld. I know you're not really supposed to weld these the same way you would a regular pipe...I think. But it helped at first. Im pretty sure that brackets can be added, but Im not sure where they'd mount. I'd have to look.

Yup Nismo. I remember you warned me about this. I thought it was something that would happen over a long period of time.

not sure if turboxs has fixed this but their hanger welds were terrible. looking at the quality of their hanger weld vs titek's, even the untrained eye could see that titek's was far superior. i know someone on this board had his turboxs test pipe crack at the hanger weld.

I have two friends out here that have the TurboXS locally and haven't had a problem so far.

Are the Titek 2.25" in and out?

Just depends. Some get lucky and can go a while. Others have problems right away. All you really need is to have a muffler shop weld a brace on.

Question

Photos always appreciated.
How many miles on the pipes?
Did you attempt to contact Megan, and ask for a refund or replacement?

as cheap as test pipes are, can't you just dish out a couple of extra $$ for decent ones? All the times you are goign to weld it, you can just get a good set.
