Default Intake Manifold Question

Im really feelin the kinetix ssv, looks very very good under the hood. im just wondering which plenum will improve more power to the wheels. if you guys can help me out and mention plenum along with average prices that would be great.

right now my mods are, JWT Popcharger, Invidia Test Pipes (non-resonated) Injen SES cat back.....hoping to be around the 240whp mark....what ya guys think????

motordyne 5/16 spacer

SSV, only if you wanna lose HP. (and get laughed at on the forum)

Crawford is a great plenum, but only produces about as much gain as the spacers.

really.....instead of a new plenum just get the spacer??

why laugh at the ssv....they look very sexy under the hood and seems like you'd gain power instead of lose power....

um ok, sexy is not the word most would use. It has been PROVEN that it is a POS. search the forum next time and you will see that. This is an OLD subject.

ohh im not argueing with you, ill take your word for it. now you mention the crawford plenum is just as efficient as the spacer, what if you put two and two together...spacer with crawford plenum...would that be 2x better?

SSV sucks...

It answers the age old question about even though it looks nice and flashy it truly is TEH SUXASS!

This might help

Also, if you understood the mechanism of the way the spacer adds hp, you would know that coupling them wouldn't do much good.

The spacer effectively makes your stock plenum identical to the crawford plenum, roughly.

Ok SSV sucks. I had one myself, but it did lk nice under the hood I guess thats why I convinced myself to keep it so long. If you want to spend that much money on a plenum you might as well get an MRev2 while your add it. I have now a MRev2, with a Kinetix V+ in which I feel a really good gain in power.

Let me brake it down .
CRAWFORD
pros: It is one of the highest gains, V5 looks nice in black, a soild cast plenum, can get a good deal for a used one.
con: Its like $400 new if they still make it, and you loose your front tower bar.

MOTORDYNE
pros: The other one that makes highest gains at least the 1/2 inch spacer, they also make the 5/16 spacer so you can keep your tower bar.
cons: The 1/2 inch you loose your tower bar , and more chance of an air leak with spacers.

KINETIX
Pros: The V+ make nice gains, hard composite plastic keeps cool temps, you keep tower bar, and its weight is light for those that care.
Cons: The old ones have a bad reputation for braking , and can't boost more than 14 lbs.

Oh the crawford + spacer not a bad idea if you are boosted.

Good luck.
