Default Question about Intake for the 07' model...

stillen has just released their intake for the 07' model...
http://www.stillen.com/product.asp?id=STIHIFLW01&c=PE

now my question is would it be a good idea to make my own like this...
http://www.cardomain.com/ride/2597965

or just buy the one that stillen makes?

what would i need to make this one if i were to do so?

any help would be appreciated

If you scroll to the bottom of his page you will notice he eventually went with the stillen intake system. I would say its probably the best idea considering he did also say he was having some idling problems with the homemade intake.

I'd wait till other manufacturers come out with theirs so you have more to compare. Stillen was first to make them available, and they are charging a premium for it.

I'm not sure if they are ready for shipping yet but AEM already has set a price, and its more than stillen.

if you wait for a little bit Fujita is suppose to release theirs pretty soon. I believe average price i'm seing it go for is between 300-325. Not bad considering its 2 intakes, not 1.

personally i'm waiting to see what Injen comes out with.

I actually spoke with him. He had idling problems. Go stillen, I did and it sounds pretty sweet.

I'm not really a fan of short-ram airs. (opinion)

I'm not really sure what the aem intake needs to do to justify the $200 more than the fujita, but how much different could the two be?

I too would like to see what else comes out (mainly Injen and JWT) but as of now it looks like I'm gonna be going with the fujita.
