I think it was a S2000 they are talking about.

there is a new video in the media share section that you can hear my exhuast now with the resonators... it's in another car, but the only thing you can hear is my exhuast search for it if you want to hear how it ended up.

I dunno... I've seen several people suggest that the video is sped up, I remember reading something about the start of the video where he cranks it up... the CEL doesn't stay on long enough for it to be normal. Never checked it out though.

Well, took it to the shop. The guy said the muffler has an inlet and 2 outlets, so I couldn't go with a straight-thru 3" w/ resonator system. So, I could only go with a 2.5" resonator. It killed 90% of the rasp. I begged my friend to help me shoot a video clip(s) later on today. So, hopefully, the plan will work this time around.

Well, took a few video clips on a busy highway. A few a$$holes knew that we were trying to film something, and purposely ruined a few potentially good clips. Friend took the memory card to his house to upload. Should be on here tonight, hopefully.

I prefer the real Borla sound over that setup. Sounds cheap and is a disgrace to the 350Z.

Personally I have enjoyed all 63 of your posts.

Stop being a troll. The guy had the ***** to try something out that no one else did. I think it sounds great, just a tiny bit raspy. Also, how the world is this a "disgrace" to the 350z?!

It sounds like a cheap ricer exhaust. He made a good effort, but fell short. Maybe he'll get it right next time.

I think I will be heading a different route: Topspeed Pro N1.

I give up. I actually liked the sound before the HFC's and resonator.
Without proof of this guy's set-up and I mean pictures, and actual footage in the day without editing, the sound is just a fantasy. I have the wrong borla muffler anyways.

i actually like the sound. It doesn't sound bad. I think it's just raspy which a lot of people on here like. I'm glad you tried something different. I rather have rasp than a deep exhaust. The topspeed n1 is wayyy to deep and resonates too much. I would never get that exhaust ever in my life again.

If you think this is raspy, you should've heard it without the 2.5" resonator. lol. It reminded me of my honda with straight piping all the way to a dtm muffler.

I think the key to doing this exhaust correctly would be resonated test pipes, headers, and a borla muffler going from a single 3" inlet to dual 2.5" outlet. Also, the tip choice could have alot to do with it.

I don't think you can have an exhuast on the Z with no cats that does not have a resonator... no matter what canister design you go with... they are all super loud.. it needs resonators.

the point of the merge from the cats is a big piece as well.

as is the piping size and overall length of the system.

I agree fully but the problem is where would you put resonators in? I would think 2.25" coming off of both of the test pipes goto 2.25" inlets on the ypipe, to a 3" outlet, that connects to the muffler. I think the only place to put resonators would be after the muffler before the tips. I have no clue if their would be enough room or not.
