Houston traffic won't let you get to above 45 mph. The plastic airbox is a good idea.

 

So in stop and go heavy traffic, why are you worried about a few HP?

 

These cars push a lot of air up too the air box/filter area. A bunch of fools were giving me **** for removing the air horns/silencers and opening the air intake of stock boxes?? Everyone is an expert - especially the non-07 owners.

 

It's like they don't use any type of actual logic. Did physics not get taught in all high schools?

Is it really that hard to understand that using metal is cheaper and faster than molding plastic. Why would you want to spend extra money on a plastic intake that will resist heat soak for for an extra 30 min in stop and go traffic,when as soon as you speed up the intake temp drops back to ambient?

And to top it off, because plastic is an insulator, once you start moving after it has heat soaked(and it will on any hot day) it will take LONGER to go back to ambient.

That doesn't make any sense to me at all. It's like people want to stick their opinion in when they have no clue what they are talking about...and I just don't get that.

It's better to keep your mouth shut and people think you are a fool, then open it and remove all doubt. I live by that.

Yeah, I noticed that there are a lot of people on here that think they know everything just because they post ***** every thread..You could know everything there is to know about cars, but until you hit 1,000 so post, your just a "Newb" with a stupid reply or opinion..Makes me want to start posting/reading over on 350ztech.com...Seems like more of a community than this place..

 

I know what you mean, but what 07zman keeps referring to as "fools" where actual replies from very credible and reputable members who know their ins and outs on the VQ. And just because they didn't agree with his "ricer wisdom" he got all butt hurt and started making inflammatory comments.

 

Drilling holes in your airbox like the way you did it is the stupidest way of getting power and the worst.

 

why is it that every thread becomes some stupid war between members, why not keep it informative and helpfull like it's meant to be. Come on people if someone throws out a remarkably stupid comment just pretend it was never there.
