Default Noob Question

Hello all. I just purchased a 2005 350z MT, I think 1 step up from base model.
I want to do an intake mod that will get me to 300 bhp, and maybe an extra 1 mpg (i know wanting mpg from a sports car). Im looking to spend 350 MAX! Any help is much appreciated.

Just get a JWT intake, you won't be disappoint, and like Ztalker said, it's around $110, sometimes $20, it really opens up the car.

I also see a ton of headers on ebay, anyone know anything about going with headers for this car?

Dont waste your money on headers IMO.. Get everything else first (your other mod wants).. If you feel you really need to then.. go ahead.. But it requires a **** load of labor for a few whp maybe.. or even a power loss/mucho $$..

A good tune is also very important to bring your mods to life.

See I understand that the easiest way to make power is to get more air in quickly, and more exhaust out quickly. Exhaust manifolds are notorious for flowing like crap, it seams headers would allow the exhaust to flow better. Is the exhaust dependent on back pressure or something of this nature?
