Default making stillen intake louder...

anyone have any idea on how to make the stillen intake louder? i just replaced my pop charger with the stillen intake and i must say im really dissapointed with the sound...it sounds almost like the stock intake with the power duct removed..i was thinking of changing the stillen intake with the pop charger one to see if that helps. the stillen has that big chrome covering on the front of the intake...dont know why also i heard if you remove that resonator thats under the intake box its supposed to make it louder...any idea guys???

The plastic cover is why it's quieter than the JWT popcharger. If you want the noise, just switch back to the popcharger.

if sound is what is more important than switch to popcharger

as far as performance man you will hear every kind of intake is better honestly from my expierience i would go by the sound or looks if its proven to be as good as the box or keep what you got and drop a K&N in it

(exhaust makes better sound anyway )

damnit but i just bout the stillen to replace my popcharger!!!! everyone says it gives a nice deep growl after 3000 rpm but i just dont hear it. im gonna try switching to the pop charger or even using a dremel to open up the opening in the stillen airbox some more...hopefully this will help along with removing that lower resonator (i have a g, not sure bout you z guys)

I would just keep the Stillen (and NOT hack it up) and get a Z-tube. And if that's not enough of a growl get a plenum spacer. Or just put in the popcharger.

Honestly the 'intake growl' is annoying to me, one of the other reasons I sold off my popcharger.

Personally, I'd be more in favor of performance than sound. The Stillen simply performs better than the poop charger...

my advice go with a new exhaust and stop spending money on the intake lol you will get much more sound out of a cat back

the nismo resonates nice in my Z i hear it better than the outside idk if this is all about sound your kinda gonna be dissapointed unless you go with a cai

If you can hear your intake, any intake, your exhaust is too quiet. Why mess up a perfectly good intake? The Stillen has several advantages over the poop charger, and the OEM, plus you spent money on it. If you don't like it, sell it.

+1

I've got a Stillen intake, along with headers, test pipes and the Intimidator catback. I can't hear my intake at all.

i hear my intake whistle for that first half of a second till the air comes out the engine and starts heading out my exhaust, than all you hear is a good deep exhaust growl.

Put your popcharger back on , it probably the best intake for the nonre-up motor you have.
