I had trouble making up 1/4" shortage in another mfgr's pipe on this car. I suspect yours is NOT 2" too short. Unless you can stretch titanium, those tips would be in front of the bumper right now.

Sorry man, I don't think they're much different from how they were on my car with the JIC Y-pipe, but that's neither here nor there. You're not happy with your purchase, and IMO you should have just written Intense and told them about it. They probably would have taken it back. Good luck anyway. If you look around, there are JIC or Tanabe Y-pipes available.

 

in the past few days i saw several post about problem with this product. if everybody would just sit quiet and never post any reviews this would be a useless site then??

 

I know Darren or pete probably already told you but they have i think lifetime warranty on this parts and if somethign wasnt right...whcih is rare, they woudl have sent you another one or issue a refund to you rigth away no issues... i dont understand the reason for this thread at all when you didnt even try to talk to the vendor in the first place.This Y pipes and Testpipes that they sell go by 100s... and overall the satisfacion is good...

 

I completely understand that. You gotta think though... a company is gonna try and push it's own product before anyone elses (simple business).

Like Quick said though, you really should get in contact with Intense. I bought stuff from them when I had my Z, and they're a pleasure to work with. I'm sure they'll take it back. If they still have no JIC y-pipes, shoot for the Tanabe.

that is the plan. in the very first post on this i have stated that i have a problem with the product, not IM . how can i be more clear.

 

I know they would have probably sent him a replacement before he OP would have even had to return his Y pipe first... which is why i said...WTF is the point of the thread when, as i said Darren or Pete def told you that this part has fully warranty. This is not even a product intense makes in house(and its not from china or megan)... and the problems are not what i would have expected...some exhausts MAY cause problem on the flex point but never seen it being short...
Most likely they tried to save you(OP) some money when they offered you this product too which for the price range.... those welds look pretty good.
Op needs to understand that everybody is making this type of comments because he didn't even try to contact the seller 1st. IF a replacement comes bad too then you can start making more claims on the product it self too...

 

The pics are taken from a different angle, so it's hard to tell, but there does seem to be a difference. I do remember someone saying something about how far those tips stuck out, so I took some shots from the side, just like yours, and they looked normal. I really think it's difficult to make up 2". When you take it off, measure it against the stock one. If it's ANYWHERE near 2" short, they will take it back and issue you an apology.

 

Uh, yeah, I know that. But why didn't you get in contact with them before making this thread? Regardless if this is or isn't a bash against Intense (which I know it's not, but others/n00bs might take it the wrong way, even though it's CLEARLY stated in your first post) letting them know first woulda been the best move.

You'll be satisfied with the Tanabe.

the bottom line is that you have bought 2 sub-par y-pipes for $200, that you are likely to trash, when you could have bought a proven and widely available y pipe like the tanabe for $300+--

I assume you have learned a lesson, that you get what you pay for (for the most part)--It's often cheaper to do it right the fist time, and if you can't afford it; to save and then do right.

A vendor will try to sell you something in stock--its basic business--I wouldn't take it personally--what did you really expect for that price?

When you have an Amuse exhaust, all the generic crap y-pipes are going to look even worst.

It's like pairing a gourmet filet with a side of MCdonald's fries and a Natural Ice beer--what do u really expect?

Go and get a proven and decent y-pipe==it doesn't have to be "exotic" +1 on the Tanabe--that is what I will be using.

And I hope that guys that are looking for a y-pipe will not do the same mistake I did.

I took a chance with an X02 exhaust and it worked out very well. So I’m not pitching "name bran stuff vs. Generic”. I took another chance with an e-bay pipe and got screwed.

So I said f-it and tried to order a top, name brand part. And got screwed again.

So you know… I will most likely never do business with IM , just because they assured me that this would be a good sub. for the jic.
