Default True Dual or Not?

better to true dual even if you plan on staying N/A?

looked around for an answer but no real explanation of why it would be better for true dual since the exhaust is two into one from the factory i only wonder because the amuse seems to be extremely expensive for being a single why wouldn't they have made it a dual?

just curious

Not sure what year your z is but I have heard the HR motor is responding very well to dual exhausts on the dyno.

HR is "High Rev" or "High Response." It's the new block in the '07 Z's (VQ35HR).

im running true dual... but im on an 07 but hey... i like it sounds great, plus i can feel a slight increase in perf. as for the 06 and below.. i dont know :/

plus the reason to get true dual, is mainly because you get better exhaust flow making it easier on the car and giving it (if you get the right diameter in piping) a slight increase in performance.

Here are some excellent references to learn about exhaust theory:

in my humble opinion especially if you are staying N/A

it really wont matter

if i were you i would do some research on the following

weight
sound
quality
warranty
price

from the research i did when i was shopping for my exhaust i decided to go with nismo because my parts dealer gave me a good deal plus warranty

Good point, I decided to go true dual with mine and I can say it definately made a big difference, with hp/tq and especially sound. I cant say how much of that is from the cat back since I did test pipes as well. I would set some boundries of price, sound, TD, test pipes, things like that to help you narrow it down because there are tons of choices.

What I did and what I recommend for you to do, is to go to a few car meets in your area. Check out what other's have done. Most if not all will be happy that you are checking out their exhaust, and will jump right in and let you here it first hand. This is the only true way to judge as there are sound bites available, but they can all start to sound alike after a while.

I went with the HKS true dual, and resonated test pipes, and headers... and alot of people actually like it, even quite a few that swore up and down that imports could never sound nice, they have eaten their words and pride and admit to it sounding good.

There are more around but we are not a tight nit group at all. Most here that you see that have someone youngish in car have modded it. Anyway next may one of the bigger meets will be less than a hour up the road. If you wish to hear mine that is cool but will be going with the Berk HFC soon as I get some time to put them on.
