Default XO2 Exhaust Owners

This thread is for anyone currently running the XO2 exhaust system on thier Z. How long have you had the system, are you satisfied with the performance and quality, and do you consider it a steal, considering HKS sells theirs for 1200-1800 dollars. Feel free to post what ever you think, also Dyno results would be great, as well as pics. This exhuast system looks great with the rear bumper tuck. Trying to give potential exhaust system buyers a cheaper alternative to the HKS...I know a lot of you out there are going to try to flame this post, so if you don't have the XO2 system you need not state an opinion. Just trying to get honest opinions about the XO2 setup

i had it...i liked it...but switched it out for the TurboXS exhaust and I like it A LLOOOT more. Also, the X02 piping rusted some.

Did anyone have issues with ground clearance over speed bumps? (HKS or X02)

It looks like the lowest point (on the inlet side) of the muffler bodies may be a concern. Any comments?

littlechina: Do you have any pics of the rust on yours? Flanges and hangers are common spots. Sometimes at a weld depending on the wire used. (Should be using 300 series stainless wire.) Some surface corrosion may appear on 304 stainless but it should be easy remove with chrome polish. If not, then I wonder what series stainless they used.

only real issues i have heard with this is the crappy tips. but there is a place on ebay that sells replacement titanium tips that fit the X02 (and look 100% better). Though you might have to redrill the holes to get them to fit properly. I had contemplated gettign this exhaust many times over but have seen some of the good and bad this exhaust has shown.

Yeah, there was a rash of people here, and on the G forums, that were posting pics of x02 rust outs... Just do a search on "x02 pos".

Some people on the other forums were addressing the rust issue by spraying the exhuast system with VHT Flame Proof Clear Coat. This stuff is made specially for exhuast and other polished metals. Also, I have a custom exhaust on my truck, and the aluminum piping has turned a yellowish color and does show a little surface rust. After seeing pics of an XO2 exhaust, the thing seems to age like it's suppose to. Another thing that can be done, is go to a motorcycle dealership and get some stainless steel protector. ITs usually a cream that you rub on to the pipes, suppose to prevent them discoloring. Alot of aftermarket motorcycle exhaust pipes are stainless steel. Even stainless steel will discolor once heated.

The VHT flame proof is what I'm gunna use to protect mine. Actually...It's high temp engine enamel...didn't have the exhaust one Same temp and everything just not the same can...both have ceramic. Mine is actually being delivered later today so once done I'll post here with ease of install and fit and what not.
