Anybody ever thought about having their exhaust black chrome plated. As soon as I order mine I'm going to look into having the whole exhaust black chrome plated.

I had mine. The tips were crap. The canisters rusted. Was very unhappy with it and would recommend someone to spend the extra $$$ on something quality.

Either that or I got one of the many bad ones

I am debating this. My plan was Invidia G200 or Borla, with a magnaflow X pipe welded in and Berk HFCs. I am well near $1500 or more installed with either. The X02 saves me about the price of the HFC's and doesnt sound too bad from youtube clips that I have seen. Now, I don't usually go cheap when it comes to cars. However I did pick up a similar ebay "knockoff" for $250 shipped for my Honda Civic a few years back. Had it installed for 2+ years without a single problem. Still looked good without rust when I sold the car in 2007. Any thoughts on X02+HFC+X Pipe? I assume the additions will eliminate any rasp and make the tone much lower and more pleasant.

I really want the Motordyne setup, but I'm in the same boat as you...I have HFC's and am thinking I could slap this cxlighting exhaust on, and if needed change it to a xpipe design, still be way ahead of buying another exhaust.

I've also looked at the G200....b/c ART (paulgt2) has it on his site for really cheap. But I can't seem to get many straight answers there, so think I'll have to go the ebay route.

Rust issues seem to be coming from places w/ lots of salt water, or salt on roads. ie Hawaii......so doubt there will be any issues with that here in the desert. there are junkyards with cars that have been sitting there for 30+ yrs rust free... (except surface on brake rotors and the sorts.)

Well I installed the XO2 today. Everything went good with the new exhaust. Getting the stock off SUCKED though. Stripped a few nuts and what not but once it was off it was easy. Sounds great. no rasp and not too loud unless I want it to be. Only issue I've seen is that on the passenger side it is touching the bumper which is melting the plastic a bit but nothing a little mussel can't fix

OH! I had forgotten about this. While I was putting the y-pipe on I took a break after since that was a big step. Go inside com back out and I scare a chipmunk. where does he go....go right into the muffler sitting on my porch. I kick it try to get it out...nothing...pick it up and bang the tip on the porch it scampers out the other end and sprints off. So my exhaust has affectionately been named the chipmunk cannon.

I got dupili color clear engine enamel. So I think so. and so far, yes it does. I did the whole exhaust in it. Am probably going to re-coat the mufflers and tips before winter. I'm in New England so I think I'm the ultimate rust test with all the rain we get plus the tons of salt in the winter! My only problem so far is I need to bend the brakets a bit. The tips are touching the bumper just a little and the smell of emlting plastic is annoying.

I bought mine for $456 I eBay one that is a knockoff of the Xo2 is 350 ish i think.

That makes that one a knockoff of a knockoff. I wouldn't get that one.
