Were talking about another model X02 Exhaust here, not the HKS ripoff X02.

Why do people X out a brand and call it **** when theres 1 person with a rusted exahust. You people baffle me! My mom bought a Honda accord after 30 years of driving american junkers, I really sold her on Honda quality and how the motors last 200,000K miles, so in the last 2 months shes had a Oxygen sensor go bad twice and she calls the car a total piece of **** and she should have never listened to me.

You guys sound like my mom. ONE RUSTED SO THERE ALL GARBAGE!! YEA EVERYONE WITH X02 TAKE THAT CRAP OFF AND GO SPEND $1,500+ ON BETTER QUALITY PIPES FOR YOUR CAR!!

there is only one style of X02 for the 350Z, and that is a HKS rip-off. those other HKS style exhausts are actually replicas of the replica.

as for your "just one person" theory, that could be true if it was just one. but there have been numerous people with this problem, and not just 350Z/G35 owners, but other model cars as well (did you actually read the link posted or are you just guessing). bottom line, if you are going to buy a replica, be sure it is a good one. in this case, the proof is in the pictures and the responses of those that have owned this turd (and discarded it for being just that).

It's like me ol' grand pappy used to tell me when I was a little girl growing up on the farm, "There ain't no free lunch in dis here world, you gets what you pays fo."

The x02 crowd thought they got over on HKS, only to realize later what they actually got was a cheap ebay pos that only imitated an HKS until their imitation pos rusted and fell apart. Lol~

Yeah, I know. The truth hurtz. Deal with it.

Well just to be on the safe..If buying a generic exhaust make sure to contact the vendor first and question him about warranties and if the exhaust will rust. If you get no reply or shady answers try another vendor. Call me cheap but I like generic, the same product just at a cheaper price. Stainless Steel is stainless steel, only thing that changes is price. But if you like paying more thats your thing

not all stainless is created equal. some varieties have better rust resistance than others.

Most exhausts seem to be using the 304 type...Like I mentioned if the generic is made of the same type, why pay more for the name?

Not to be an ***, but we should all agree to disagree on this one. I've seen a cpl threads like this one and the two sides will NOT come to an agreement...so in a situation like this its best to just walk away and read my sig but apply it to the people on the opposing side of the argument.

Be sure to let us know how the exhaust turns out. Some before and after dynos would be awesome. Also be sure to go for a tune..I hear you need a tune to get the most out of a true dual exhaust.

I found these two exhausts on ebay. One is from CXlighting and the other from Hiprospeed. They both look good but the second one is $100 more. Are these the same exhausts?

I saw those too. From what I can observe, they are the same piece of equipment being sold at different prices.

It is likely that they are manufactured at different sweatshops.

...Or maybe it's a HKS and they forgot to put it in the title & description!!!

First, I wouldn't know, and it was merely a sarcastic speculation. Secondly, I was kidding.

For other uses, see Sweatshop (disambiguation).

A sweatshop is a working environment with very difficult or dangerous conditions, usually where the workers have few rights or ways to address their situation. This can include exposure to harmful materials, hazardous situations, extreme temperatures, or abuse from employers. Sweatshop workers are often forced to work long hours for little or no pay, regardless of any laws mandating overtime pay or a minimum wage. Child labour laws may also be violated. Sweatshops may be compared to the factories of the early industrial revolution in countries such as the UK and US, where regulations were few and far between.

Though often associated with third-world countries, sweatshops can exist in any country. Sweatshops have existed in several cultures, including Early American culture beginning in the 1850s. Sweatshops can produce many different goods, from clothing to furniture.

Good info. I didn't mean to put off the notion that buying one of these exhausts is wrong. I can't say I'm entirely out of the market for one of these exhausts... In fact, I favor the looks and sound of this exhaust compared many other "name brand" exhausts, and, obviously, the price is very attractive.

What I can't discern is whether it is morally wrong or not to buy "knock-off" products while companies that we love and respect, like GReddy, are filing for bankruptcy...

I got the joke...its made overseas...etc...

Well on the ethical problem I keep telling myself "the name brands don't care about me, even if I buy from them, I don't really matter." so...why should I care about them?

When you deal with small companies, they typically will bend over backwards to keep you happy. They act like they care. they might actually care....I know these knock-offs aren't small companies...and they don't care either...but at least I'm not paying top dollar for someone to not care.

There's some things I'll go "cheapo" on. Bent tubing is one of em. Things don't rust in the desert....so not a real issue here
