its not a matter of difficulty, its more a matter of time consumption / pain in the ***.

Its not a basic bolt on like a cat back exhaust if that is what you are thinking...

Has anyone on here installed headers on a revup motor? I heard that on the revup motors you MUST either shim the motor so that the headers do not hit the stearing column? If anyone with a revup has had headers installed let me know. This will determine whether or not I have a shop do it or me.

EDIT: I post under my brother account again. But the is Jon jtgli asking the question ha.

Headers on the Z are definately not an easy task. Although it can be done on jackstand but you will get a few bloody knucles and a lot of headaches while doing the install. Just save the money that you're going to spend on headers and go twin turbos.

I have a revup with dc sport headers. No fitment issues.

Thanks gothchick. My bro, has strups and for some reason the shop that installed them said that they needed to shim his motor for them to fit. I dunno why? Just was hoping that other people didnt have the same problem. Did you install your headers?

No problemo. I had mine installed at Performance Factory in FL. We did have to rock the engine to get the headers in. But once they were in, no fitment issues. :-)

AJ let me help with the install. Very fun stuff & totally cool guy~

Most all headers will require some sort of shifting/tilting/shimming of the block to get the manifolds in place. It's not as hard as it sounds, remove a couple mounts and it shifts pretty much by itself.

I've got the DC headers too. I had a local tuner shop install them along with a tune and some other things.

The headers cost me $499 and $480 labor...well worth it IMO...sound great, no fitment issues.
