What about if you Jet Hot coat it? Then you could also wrap that? Seems excessive though, who knows.

I dont think that would be very cost effective.

Friend ordered the reflective tape for his STi to wrap his intake. Those Subies are known for thier heat soak issue!

Ok the product we see all the time is the reflective tape by itself, how about the reflective tape with fiberglass in them? Doesn't stick as good but sure did big temps down dramatically from soaking up his powder coated pipe!

I'm wrapping my pipe because that 1 hp is all I have

About three days before this thread came out I was looking through an old hot rod magazine. Their must be a phsychic connection or something. There is a better material than the tape stuff. I saw an ad on a product for this exact mod
the magazine was from nov. 2007. I cut out the ad then after I thought about it
I tossed it thinking it wouldnt do much. Now you mention it does work on this thread, I cant remember the site that sells it but I want my 1 h.p.

Yea...I've read the tape has minimal heat soak protection by itself! There is another product that has a fiberglass layer. I'm leaning towards that or just using header wrap (seriously).

here's what my friend did...

You'll noticed it's not as angle friendly as the tape is. My friend also said it doesn't stick as good. Maybe cleaning and prepping the surface may have helped. On the intake pipe he could of used a clamp or ziptie instead of over lapping it would of looked cleaner!

My thoughts on applying this to the HR would be just the intake pipes, and maybe making a barrier between the fuel rails and the lower side of the plenum.

If your any good at arts and crafts this still can be pleasing to the eyes...

What you guys think?
