Default X02 exhaust owners

Has anyone experienced quick rusting of the xos exhaust tips? I rode mine for about 100miles and the tips look like crap. Rusty and dull. I'm getting ahold of the MFR to get some replacements, but I was curious if this is a common thing.

I've only driven in wet conditions 3-5 times for a few minutes a piece. I try not to take out my Z in crappy weather.

All bolts are rusted. Canister is all rusted. Guess I really got what I paid for. Replacing this with the Fast Intentions 3" dominator.

Sorry you got burned with the x02. If it helps you feel better, you won't be alone as more get sold and start rusting, cracking, and falling apart.

Fast intentions on the other hand, is a great exhaust! I also like their clean pipe routing & integrated x-pipe a lot. You'll be happy with it for sure. Fast Intentions is the only exhaust I would consider over my HKS.

hey man,
Same boat here. Created a few posts below this one. I may have found a solution.

I have considered getting them , but based on the pics and the issues I have seen it does not look like it is going to happen. Now if it is truly 304 stainless then the rusting should not happen, certainly not that fast. The rusting is caused by the amount of carbon in the steel. A number below 300 is going to rust, above 300 it should not. A higher number = higher grade of steel. I wonder if these are truly stainless steel.

Mine are still nice & shiny, then again we don't get the torrential rains of Houston or Seattle.

Actually the weather here in NM is nice & dry, for the price I paid no complaints. Will keep you all posted if we start getting monsoon like weather here, and the tips or the exhaust have any problems.

No rust on mine either but who knows. I'll be doing some work on it this week so I will check the undercarriage and see what that looks like.

I Have The Xo2 System On My Car. Just Installed Like 1 Month Ago. Had Some Minor Fitment Issues Had To Modify The Rear Hangers To Line Tips Up Perfectly And Had To Weld A New Hanger In The Front By The Trans Mount To Get It Off My W-brace And Stop The Rattleing. Other Than That It Sounds And Looks Perfect. And The Car Performs Like A Dream.

is there anyway to actually replace the X02 tips with original HKS, since that's the main part that shows...mine is rusting too btw. mainly near the little bolts holding the tips on, but the blue/purple/burnt is just brown now.looks like ****
