I heard that for them to "void" the warranty they have to PROVE that the modification in question caused the problem at hand. Otherwise you can sue them. Laws vary from state to state though, this is how it is in Cali i believe. This is to say that they can't deny repair of your powertrain warranty because you installed a body kit, CAI, rims, or some other item that is completely irrelevant to that area.

First of all, install the whole **mn thing. I didn't take my bumper off. All I did was jack up the car about 3 inches, take out the wheel well and feed in the bottom half through the bottom. I did this back when I knew nothing so it couldn't have been that hard.

I know that sounds dumb, but seriously, were you expecting 50+hp from an intake. I mean, on a dyno you may get anywhere from 2-5+hp but I would be surprised if it were any more than that.

As far as the sound, I don't want to say that it doesn't sound better, but it is barely noticeable. What I do hear that wasn't there before is, under hard acceleration, I hear a little bit of the air whistling through.

These are some of the best mods for an NA 350Z:
1) Plenum Spacer
2) Test Pipes
3) Pulley Kit
4) Some sort of Cat-Back such as the HKS Hi Power Exhaust
5) A set of headers

I hope this helps the OP and all the rest. That has been my $.02!
Danny

They have to prove that the aftermarket part caused the problem. If something does happen, simply put the car back to stock. Air intake is the safest mode you can do.

what problems have the JWT been having?

interesting read on this, Nismo not being very vocal.
i've got the general impression the exhaust isn't as vocal either.

bet Nismo do some good products over stock and try to retain stock feel and sounds, with a bit of added sportiness.

makes me think the JWT would be a better option for noise, over Nismo intake then

sell your nismo cai and get a popcharger (trust me you wont regret it). then with your leftover money buy a motordyne plenum spacer. you will now get that aggressive sound you want.
