Thumbs up Whoa! Had a hard time loggin' in...

...but I'm in! Doubt on the MAF sensor problems I've heard about on some
posts: Any true expert knows FOR SURE if the oil in K&N filters REALLY mes-
ses up the MAFS?! It just doesn't make sense to me, I mean, the sucking
action's not THAT super-duper to "swallow" the stuff, is it? Them things are
expensive to just dump 'em ($60.00, plus 7% politicians' tax, for mine!!!) Any comment/advice is definitely appreciated. I've had them in three rides &, so
far, no bad news, but the annoying thought's been planted in my brain!

Old man from Puerto Rico.

if they are over oiled (don't know if K&N has alot of problems) they can mess up your MAF absolutely.

Thanks, Jay'. I'll stay on the search for the final answer. Maybe, K&N could
cover that for me but, then again, they're not gonna say anything negative 'bout their own products...What a predicament! (Why the Hillary monster thing, Jayson???).

The problem has never occurred to me, but I have rarely held on to one long enough to re-oil it. I believe the original oiling provided by K&N is well applied and evenly distributed. However, they have no control over the end user, most of who buy this product are not overly qualified, knowledgeable, or skilled - no reflection on anyone on this board, of-course. I have noticed that more and more vendors are getting away from oiled high flow filters, and redesigning them to work dry. Amsoil and others now offer high flow panel and conical dry air filters, that using an oiled filter to improve performance no longer makes sense.
