K&n Intakes For The '07 Finally Here!
Heatsoak is BS. I had air temp readings on the dyno and they were pretty normal after 4 runs on the rollers. And thats when I had my AEM intakes. Its just an excuse to cover up the $400+ spent on intakes that dont usually produce much gains.
If youre n/a DONT expect much gains from just intakes and exhaust and blah blah. It will be uselss.

no it was open but we did drive the car around with the hood closed and checked air temps. I dont remember the exact readings but he said it was normal temps and no heat soak.
Also your arguments of hood being open or closed makes absolutely no sense. You guys say the intakes lose power because of heat soak. Yet these power loss readings from dynos we see are from dynos. And on these dynos the hoods are propped up, and according to your reasonings there should be no heat soak with the hoods open?
Im just sayin I have had data collected that proves there is no heat soak under normal driving conditions.

heat soak is negligible once the car starts moving. the air is not stagnant inside the engine bay. otherwise your engine compartment temperature would go way, way beyond 250 degrees (aka the temperature your headers are at).

Notice the line of the Pop Charger versus stock airbox. That's a pretty big difference in slope.
It makes no sense eh? What does heat do? What can heat do with the hood open?
