Default Finally got my Stillen Intake installed.

Took maybe an hour, and that was because my 4 year old was helping. ( I let him turn some loose bolts so he feels like he's helping.) Very easy install to say the least. I thought I was mechanically incompetant, but the instructions that came with the intake do a decent job of explaining, and what it doesnt cover, you can figure out.

I noticed it was harder to get the the MAS box lined up with the plenum tubing, I had to finesse it a little bit. Once the tubing was lined up, the strut bolt didnt line up at all, but I figured it was better to have tubing correct rather than the air box housing completely seated. Otherwise, everything sat in their well, and I had no clearance issues.

I took it out for a drive and noticed a slight wooshing sound when I get on the pedal. More noticeable when I was stopped and revving because under load, all I hear is the XO2. When I decellerate, I can hear a slight sound coming from it also. Its not bad, and seems to change the sound of the engine a bit. Gives a bit more angry grumble than just the XO2 alone. Overall, I like the sound difference, even if it seems slight.

Question for you guys. I took it out and I noticed a slight power increase in the mid to upper rpm range. (Lower end felt a bit less powerful, but if you keep the rpm's above 3.5k, I didnt notice) Seemed just the tiniest bit more torquey. But that might be conjecture. I remember reading somewhere here that the computer takes time to adjust for a new intake. How many miles does that usually take? You guys think as the computer adjusts I'll feel a bit more of a difference? Any suggestions or information I should know now that it's on?

Next on the list is the plenum spacer. I really enjoy power mods, and this one was a confidence booster because I did it myself. Between adding suspension stuff and power stuff, Im gonna be broke for a long time. But it's so much fun to do it yourself and then feel the difference. Modding is such an expensive hobby, but it's definitely addictive. I can see why people throw so much money into it.

I don't have a decent camera or I'd give some vid/sound clips. Maybe I can hit my neighbor up for his. I dont think anyone else has posted up X02 sound clips anyway.

I should definitely do that before I put the Helix TP's on, for compare, contrast.
