Better 60', obviously contributed to better time, however expected at least about the same time with stock intake. Track closed down before I could do a 13.9 run.

Another thing I noticed with short ram intake the engine has more vibration on higher RPM and milage monitor never gets over 14mpg in the city, and with OEM intake I got well over 17mpg and smother top end.

Buddy told me it might be slower but I didn't believe him, now I know.
Per gabez33, I did the procedure to relearn idle air on mine when installed the Stillen/JWT intake+popcharger. It's not open to engine air and retains the "power duct" CAI. Procedure w/o Consult is kind of wonky, it's in the FSM.

If your ECU makes assumptions based on past data, it's very possible to get worse mpg and worse performance.

NVH sounds like maybe not braced so well, or somehow more likely the engine is not running well at speeds higher than idle and below WOT.

Tried reseting, didn't help, drove it for 2 weeks drivability improved over time however milage didn't and vibration either. So switched back to stock intake and filter with snorkel and it's close to 17mpg in the city and much smother top end all the way to 7k.

Good enough for a daily driver grocery getter

i faced stalling and bad idle also lost some Trq after i installed my mod.
what i did 1)cleaned my MAF with carburetor cleaner
2)cleaned my throttle body (there was a mountain of black dust ,,,i think)
3) unplugged my negative battery Wier .
now : no stalling and better Trq

I really don't understand how you guys mess up a pop charger install. I've had mine for like 2000 miles and have not had any problems.

Get a lot of temp extremes in TX, do y'all? Stfu if you have nothing to add. Try driving from 20 below to 100 above F and then we'll talk. 2000 whole miles? Wow, that's almost like, 1/25th of what I have on just one of two cars with a VQ. Obviously you're the voice of experience...

Sounds like some people have similar issues, any way to resolve/improve the situation?

Thanks

Art

For some reason the car didn't like it, maybe it needed a reset not sure. I haven't had much exp modifying 350zs, but have done over 2 dozen other turbo cars with up to 450hp so, sorry fellas, unless you have half a brain intake is the easiest install there is, you can't mess it up.

Anyways, I am not planing to do anything with this '05, maybe with my other '07. So I am going to leave it stock.

The car will cut off when it is in nuetral and you are doing ~80+ mph. I tested it after mine cut off on a backroad going to different speeds then putting it into neutral. You have to keep it in gear above 80 or blip the throttle (DE engines...no clue about HR's), don't let it go under 1k rpms. It is coming from one fo two things: 1) Not enough air flow...it is not actively sucking in air, so it stalls. 2)the MAF is confused by the lack of air in the intake vs other information from other sensors (possibly speed sensor) and decides to cut the car off.

Keep it in gear or blip until you reengage the clutch and you will be fine. As for the idle, you may need to do a re-learn or reflash. It is normally not an issue.

interesting...

I just switched from jwt popcharger to a mishimoto intake and it still does the same thing...

pretty much with any "spirited" driving the damn thing dies in neutral. hell sometimes it even dies from normal driving.

I dunno what to do with it...I'll keep driving and see what happens...
