An undecided lost exhaust buyer...

What should I consider next?

Why does nismo sell stuff like headers exhaust cams, if you can't see decent gains without a reprogrammed ECU seems silly..
But if I were you, I'd get a ECU next

Poiseullie's Law=change vessel (tube) diameter from 2x to x and increase resistance 16-fold! (exponential relationship)
in other words 2.5+2.5 does NOT equal a 5" diameter tube.
I don't know about that....basic fluid dynamics says mass flow rate = velocity X density X cross sectional area. So assuming the motor can pump out more volume flow will be directly proportional to crossectional area not exponentially proportional. Double the crossection - double the flow if the velocity is the same. Half the area and you may choke the flow
......I guess I wasn't sleeping in all my Fluids classes many moons ago
. ME's chime in....

no it doesn't. You need a lesson in physics. the measure of Flow doesn't add up that way.

injen is the way to go.
itz not like borla but more import f-1 like.
im getting the ses with injen comes out with the straight angle tips.
my bro has the greddy evo on his mitsu.
pretty nice.. not loud at all.

"According to this forum, a ECU since no gains can be seen without one =) Why does nismo sell stuff like headers exhaust cams, if you can't see decent gains without a reprogrammed ECU seems silly.." is the full quote
The sarcasm in my "=)" was obviously not enough so let me spell it out for you..
Why would nismo sell stuff like headers exhaust cams, if you can't see decent gains without a ECU.. Oh wait I already said that.. Ah yes I was being sarcastic as in you DON'T need an ECU otherwise Nismo wouldn't sell all these mods
Here is one quote from a TechnoSquare ECU thread:
"You know how everyone is slapping on intakes and the car first gains power but then the hp goes away? Its due to a feedback control loop the ECU has for Fuel and Ignition timing... this is a new system Nissan has in all its New (2003+) cars... this number is a preset value which will tell the car to go back to its original state when it senses changes..."
Whatever man.

Obviously flow and cross sectional area may be directly proportional, but tube radius and cross sectional area are not.
Take care.

I have been looking around at the exhuasts as well. I had an RS*R exhuast on my old honda and it was the best on the market that were not louder than hell. I know RS*R just released their exhuast and wondered if anyone had purchased one yet? I have heard some questions about STILLEN being too heavy etc.
Does anyone know where real gains with exhuast only are located? I would love to get that info...
Thanks for the help...
