Y pipe question
Ok, so I am redoing my exhaust. I already purchased the RS-R exhaust, and I have some test pipes on the way. (Yes, I know how loud this is going to be)
So this leaves the y pipe. I was planning on purchasing the JIC y pipe. But I was just wondering....is that really necessary? Would the stock y pipe work? I'm guessing an aftermarket y pipe would be optimal....but I really haven't heard of y pipes producing much in the way of gains. So is this just an issue of reliability or what exactly is the benefit? I searched, but couldn't really find the answer. Any help would be great. Thanx.

JIC y pipe or MD y pipe for sure.. Most of the power gains come from the new Y pipe and the bigger diameter. The stock Y pipe is great for stock but switching to an aftermarket will gain you some power for sure.
I am getting y-pipe back hks carbon ti exhaust...
midpipe is 3"... and I was just gonna put it on my stock y pipe..
any suggestion? y pipe outlet is 2.5 correct? would it leak in anyway or bring bad results?

if ur already going with a cheaper exhaust no offense but i would just buy a megan 3" y pipe off ebay or a pro-1. Dont waste your money on JiC yes very worth it just not for this exhaust.
