Car sounds awesome..

However, if I remember correctly, the hissing you hear is the mixture of different temperature exhaust gases mixing with each other.

I have been looking for a road to do it on in this area but it's hard cause either the road has traffic on it or there is construction going on somewhere so the road is littered with rocks...when i find a good road to do it i will definitely make one because the sound under load is just amazing!

thanks! and that could be correct too, but i do know the flex joints do expand under the pressure and compress back and make some noise

intake mods are:

JWT popcharger
Motordyne Iso-thermal plenum spacer
Megan V2 test pipes
nismo exhaust

for test pipes i recommend the V2 cause not only do they have flex joints, but a HUGE o2 bung and i have had no issues with a CEL code...i also have an ingalls torque damper to keep the engine from torqueing over and stressing the TPs and tranny

haha, it's funny you said that cause i was worried that was going to happen since a few cars drove right past it...good thing it was hidden good enough to where people didn't notice it or else that would have sucked!

Does your setup drone in the cabin? I had the Nismo y-back, Megan TP's, and the Motordyne XYZ pipe w/ cat section in and it droned like crazy. I had it on for a half a day and took the Nismo y-back off and the Megan TP's off. I put the OEM cats and OEM midpipe/muffler back on. I'm going to see how the Nismo sounds with the stock cats this weekend. I think part of my issue is that I have a G35 and I had the 8" extension custom made. Midas screwed that up pretty bad. First they made it 7.5" and my midpipe made major contact with the crossmember. This caused some crazy vibrations in the car (maybe caused some of the drone too?). Second, the welds on the flange were so big that the bolt head wouldn't even touch the flange. I think that was causing an exhaust leak.

the drone is only loud when accelerating or going WOT...cruising isn't bad at all around 2-2,500k rpm but above this is when it kicks in but like i said it's not bad until you accelerate or punch it, then it turns heads! :P it happens a lot to me when i'm just driving and someone next to me revs there engine so i down shift and the engine comes to life and screams back at them!! haha, i get many mixed impressions from it cause you can tell they weren't expecting it

I like the idea of the flex joints built in the test pipe. I wonder why more companies don't utilize flex joints in their test pipes..

These test pipes look like a good bargain. I will tell my cousin to buy them for his stock 04 G35.

well sometimes that can be a hit or miss..especially since the VQ tends to crack TPs no matter what brand they are, some more than others, but the flex joint is definitely a step in the right direction so it's no longer "when they will crack" but more of "IF they will crack"

Tell me what brand cracks TP or hfc, expect nismo/injen TD. My AAM y-pipe's flex joint is very flexble than nismo's, i don't see why need extra flex joint on TP. ( megan's addin flex joint on TP idea wasn't very succesful on the market anyway)
