Has anybody deleted the res. from a NISMO exhaust?
I am wanting something a little bit louder but I don't like the idea of tp's or hfc's.
Thanks,

I havn't heard of it being done but my guess is it probably wouldn't sound good.
In my experience, midpipe resonators are the most important element in sound quality.
If you try it, please post your results.

I figured somebody had to be the test mule for this. I searched and wasn't able to find anything.
I was able to get this done this afternoon and I have mixed feelings towards it. When the car is cold there is quite a bit of noticable rasp. To me it sounds like the top speed exhaust but I have to let somebody drive my car so that I can hear it outside. I will try to get a clip up sometime tomorrow.

On exhausts that have mid-mufflers (resonators), usually they are placed strategically to combat unwanted exhaust notes. We don't really know how far Nismo, or whoever they contracted out to, went to decide on the location of the resonator. They may have just took notice of the stock resonator location, and blueprinted off that. In either case, on the OEM exhaust, the resonator is pretty significant in the exhaust note. I removed mine and there was instant rasp above about 50% throttle. I eventually took a smaller resonator laying around from an E46 M3, and put it in the stock location, and the rasp went away.
The location of that resonator is pretty critical to acoustics on the OEM exhaust. I'd imagine it would be fairly similar to exhausts that follow the OEM model.

I should have a video this afternoon, I get off work around noon and I will be able to mess with it then. It is really LOUD. Once the car warms up most of the rasp goes away. I will be looking into a small res. to put in.
I wouldn't do it if I were you. I know you don't want to but I think you should go the test pipe/high flow cat route. This way if you don't like it you can always bolt your stock cats back up and sell the tp/hfc....albeit at a small loss.
I can tell you that test pipes with the Nismo is pretty loud IMO and drones badly.
