Do I have a MotorDyne Spacer?!
I recently bought my Z and I know the previous owner had done some bolt-ons but as I was going through the box he gave me with the stock air box, screws, etc. I found an envelope with the install instructions for a MotorDyne spacer and an unopened "Motordyne Engineering Aramid Gasket."
Is there anyway I can tell from looking at the engine externally, like the strut bar clearance? Don't get me wrong, everything runs sound but I still want to know.
Thanks!
e.

If you take off the engine cover, you will be able to see a spacer or not

Good deal. In the pictures the spacer looks white, is that what I'm looking for? And do you know why I would have an unopened aramid gasket left over from the install?

Do I still need to take off the cover for the pic or just a certain position from the camera?

It's way too cold outside and I forgot my gloves at work to take the cover off, will this do?

It's a little dirty but I never noticed a difference as far as the engine cover went.

My bad the 350z cover is different from my G35 cover. No worries.
As for the gasket he may have bought or did the ISO thermal upgrade as well but never used it? Not too sure...

Awesome, hey thanks to everyone for your time. I've only been a Z owner for 2 weeks now and I can't begin to tell you how helpful this site has been.

Not sure what your question is. The gasket is explained here:

Yes, its a Motordyne spacer.
It has a grit blast finish and with thick black gaskets pre-attached to the spacer.

I think he means if the spacer is installed, why does he have an extra gasket.

It's probably for the intake manifold below the plenum (long, thin, 6 runners in a row).
