Those are the G35 versions but the v-stack is the same. The Z airbox you just lift up the filter from the top.

You CAN split it though. I've done it for kicks since I had one laying around. Not sure why one would want to as you'd have to glue it back together.

I bought a 06 airbox and due to lack of proper shipping some tabs are broken. So i wanted to use the front of my 03 airbox and the back of the 06.

Then you're going to have to split it and reglue it.

Are the velocity stacks removable? I think it will be easier to change the stacks than opening and glueing the box again

Not sure if you can get to a Z v-stack w/o breaking the airbox open. Maybe

I just purchased an 06 airbox from a fellow member here. The velocity stack is riveted into the box.

It'd be pretty hard to drill/dremel it off without taking the box apart

On a side note, I thought this was one of those stupid mods that you'd never actually notice a difference with. Well I picked up an 06 box a couple months ago and I actually did notice a healthy increase in power across the board. There is a much louder "chirp" from the intake now too. I'm glad I got this instead of the ghetto looking poop charger, and with my K&N it probably had the same gain.

i experimented with my 03 airbox, the velocity stack pops out with ease even if its riveted.

I'm postive you can drill the rivots out and get the v-stack to come loose. What I don't remember is if you can remove/install the new v-stack into your existing housing though the filter access area. I used bolts/nuts to hold the new v-stack in on my G airbox (much easier to deal with as this box splits open). So unless you have a rivot gun, not sure how one would get your hands in there to put the bolts/nuts installed.
