More importantly, how do those mufflers work for you on a completely subjective level?
On a subjective level, both of the two designs I've tried so far are the best sound I've heard inside or outside my car since I started modifying my car 3 yrs ago. I am going to have a hard time choosing between the shockwave v2 and the large VQ muffler. They both have nice attributes, just slightly different in tone. I really want to hear them together!

What do I think others would like? The shockwave TDX v2 with the side resonators I think will be end up being one of the most popular performance exhausts available for this platform. Straight through design, top performance, better drone control than even the large VQ muffler, a fuller spectrum of VQ sound and screams power at WOT. In contrast, the VQ muffler sounds subdued and civil even when getting on it (which I personally like) but still has significant drone at 10% throttle 1800-2000 rpms. My 5AT spends the most time around 2500 rpms, then at 1800 rpms, cruising around town (the torque converter spins/slips and holds the rpms constant as the car accelerates, which is why I believe drone affects the 5AT more than the 6MT).

If I had to pick between these two, I think I'd go with the Shockwave TDX v2. Even though it's actually louder overall through a WOT pull, the elimination of drone makes it sound so much better in the cabin.

2 more designs to go - hang in there folks... There will be one last update Saturday night. If the weather holds Sat, I'll finish up testing on the last 2 designs. If not it will have to wait till after xmas day.

The last two muffler types use Seabring mufflers. They are a bit smaller than the VQ.

Hmmm, this kinda makes things a little more complicated when picking one. I thought it was going to be a very clean cut clear quieter/droneless option and that was going to be the VQ.

I vote for the baby child of the V2 + VQ like Raj suggested, is that possible Tony?

Tony, if I previously understood you correctly then the two remaining ones should drone and be louder then both the VQ and V2, correct?

The VQ muffler cannot be combined with the Helmholtz resonator... not enough room.

And yes, I do expect the other two smaller muffler types to have less attenuation.

I can look into combining it with Gamma though.

Man the gamma with v2 canisters would be super quiet I would imagine. The gamma with stock cats alone is a very mild exhaust. But maybe it would be enough for the turbo guys? Plus it would look like an HKS exhaust, which is a great looking design.

Yes, I was worried that the bend around the VQ muffler would take up too much space. Unless you chopped the lower inner corners off?

There is also more space and clearance towards the rear of the car than near the rear strut bar. Does it matter if the resonator comes before or after the muffler and is angled backwards vs forwards?

I've only had a few minutes to drive with it and I hate to say it (because I'm in the 10-20% category that would like to see it even quieter) but I think 80-90% of folks are going to love the v2 TDX.

If you combine with the gamma, I'll put in a pre-order right now!

So between all the dual exhausts that motordyne offers, which one is the quietest?

^come on man. Didn't you read anything in the last few pages?

I am also in for Gamma V2. My exhaust is perfect except for that drone at 2500

Of the ones I've tried...

From loudest to quietest: the Shockwave TDX, Shockwave TDX V2, and the Large VQ TDX

From most drone to least: Shockwave TDX (worst at 2500 rpms), Large VQ (worst at 1800 rpms), V2 (worst at 1500 rpms)

EDIT: we have snow and sleet. no more testing tonight.

Yes, it is a true dual. The primary diameters are dual 2.5" and the midpipe back is dual 3".

Tony,

During the development of the exhaust, did you notice any performance difference from dual to single? How about audible?

Performance wise there isn't much difference as long as its done correcctly but there is a significant difference in the sound.

The duals are deeper and mellower.
The singles are brighter and louder.

No, nothing on the V2 really - there is a little something around 1600, but it's minimal. Idle is quieter I think on the V2 than on the VQ. The drone I was referring to above was for the original TDX (straight pipe v1) with the 2500 rpm drone. The VQ muffler also eliminated the drone at that point (but it did have one at 1800 though not as intense as the V1). Here is a short vid of the V2 (though inclement weather has really made it tough - shot some video early this evening in freezing temps with no traction to allow a nice pull). At the 1 min 49 sec mark, I accelerate from 1500 rpms up to 2500 while watching the RTA - you can see the small peaks that still exist magically disappear!

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/rTciYTJX4HE&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/rTciYTJX4HE&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

I watched another video of the V2 on a NA car and it is definitely louder than on my FI car. This is a very nice FI exhaust - very reasonable when not WOT. No drone like on every other exhaust I have ever had on my car (other than stock). Brian, if you're reading this, I think you're going to like this design. If you're turning into an old guy (like me) and want sound levels closer to stock in addition to no drone, then maybe Tony will be able to come up with some combo in the future...

I will not get a chance to test the other two mufflers until xmas day - apologies Tony (et al.)

That is so cool. You have an in dash RTA readout monitoring your exhaust acoustics while driving.
